My mother-in-law passed away last week. She was amazing! Very special and loving lady that left an imprint on people’s hearts.

I am eating things i shouldn’t
I am eating more than i should at times
but i just don’t care

I am also helping my husband and daughter mourn and trying desperately to take care of myself

This SUCKS

I don't believe there's an easy way to get through grief. So sorry for your loss. I agree with Jim it just takes time and a lot of prayer.😔🙏

Yes, prayers for your MIL, and especially your husband and daughter, and YOU.
This too will pass, and the train will come around again, for you to hop aboard.

Derrick @imastar2 is right; there’s no easy way to deal with this. This is one of those situations where you only get one chance to be there for your family, but you’ll have lots of chances in the future to deal with food choices. That’s not a license or absolution, but it’s a valid perspective on what you’re going through. At the end of the day, your family is the most important.

Sorry for your loss. Most of us have been through something similar, but it’s never easy.

I truly am sorry for the loss you and your family have sustained.

I had a wonderful MIL, and I was quite close to her. Her loss was very difficult. And, it does take time to get through it.

I was very successful weight-wise at the time (2009). I found that concentrating on what I knew I should do, with regard to food, helped me. But, I also am an emotion eater; so, there were days that I slipped. That will happen. But, by doing things my rote, I mitigated the damage. There is no easy answer. That's what worked for me.

Again, I truly am sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry to hear this. I just lost a very close brother-in-law in December and know what you are going through. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.
