I can look at this as going nowhere or gratefully maintaining. I think I'll opt for the second one right now. We had a nice St. Patrick's dinner with friends last Thursday and nothing has stopped working or broken down during the past 7 days. :D I have also managed to handle the discomfort of my extraction and bone implant with only OTC pain relievers and I'm down to tylenol and ibuprofen once a day. Progress. Eating is a bit difficult, but obviously I have managed. ;)

Lois, I know that you are super busy with visitation tonight and services for your MIL tomorrow. I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts.

Sheesh, I expect you are busy getting ready to leave for Hawaii and that nice break for you and your hubby.

So Kelly, it's you and me girl still dealing with cool or cold weather (our warm spell has passed and we're back to more seasonal temps). That short extra warm spell brought out the cherry blossoms downtown so we're dealing with more tourists than usual in the DMV and of course, those "freedom convoy" truckers are still clogging up the highways. Boo hiss!! But we're able to stick close to home with few exceptions. We do have friends from NC arriving in the area later today. They moved to NC about 3 years ago, and we have only seen them a couple of times since. They are up to celebrate a daughter's birthday and see their first great-grandchild for the first time. We are having dinner with them and mutual friends in a little town north of here on Friday night. Should be fun, but of course, eating with these stitches . . .

I was able to get my steps back up last week, but my 7-day average burn is still below 1800. I broke the 1800 mark on only two days. Here are the my daily averages:

Steps = 13,025
Stairs =14 floors
Kcals burned =1,776

My goal for next week is simple: kcals down; burn up. Hope that everyone is doing well, and I hope that everyone is able to post soon. I think about you all and miss you when the board is slow.

    Dang it . . I was at 124.8 yesterday! Well, I think I'll be happy with that and just try to maintain while on our trip. We leave Sunday.

    I got to spend the day with my grand baby here on Monday . . my trainer had to cancel due to her twins being ill and having to stay home from school. Then, my daughter's babysitter canceled also due to illness (Flu is going around here now) and daughter had meetings in downtown SLC all this week, so I volunteered to go help out her hubby who was working from home. Wow, she is so much fun! <3 She's at a really cute age, smiling, giggling at peek-a-boo rolling around on the floor, eating a bit of solid food, and when she is tired she puts her hand backward over her eyes and moans like a diva, lol! Like "oh, pleeaase, close the blinds and let me sleep now." I was cracking up. :D

    Kelly, I'm so impressed with your sticking to your schedule and getting more muscle and more fit. You're doing great, and I know the benefits are numerous . . muscle and bone, better sleep, mood, lower fat, etc. Keep up the great work. Best wishes to your kids on their hockey endeavors, too.

    Sarah, wow, your activity is impressive! I rarely even get 10K steps anymore. I have an Apple Watch, so like Kelly, I aim to close the 3 rings. But, I'm nowhere near the calorie burn, stairs, and steps you're accomplishing. I'm glad your extraction is healing well, and you're having less pain. Hope you enjoy seeing your friends.

    Lois, I'll be thinking of you and your family as you say goodbye to your mother-in-law. It's a very difficult thing, but it will get better gradually. <3 We will be traveling to Arizona again after our Hawaii trip for the Celebration of Life for my brother-in-law. We put together some photos we found of him, and wrote some memories we'll be sharing.

    Down I go... little by little. Of course I want it to be faster, especially for all the work I'm putting in, but hey, I'll take it!

    Oh Sarah.. I wish we had buds on our trees already! Normally we would this time of year, but this darn winter just won't go away. So much snow has melted already but we still have a ways to go. It's supposed to get cold again this weekend (-18C / -0.4 F). Yuck! With everything melting during the day and it freezing over night, the roads are crunchy and icy.

    Sheesh I'm soooo jealous of your trip!! I hope you guys have the most fabulous time. I can't remember if I mentioned, but we're planning to go to Minneapolis, Minnesota for our kids Spring Break next week. It's a 6-7 hour drive, but it's a getaway. We were going to go to Edmonton, Alberta, but that's a 14-15 hour drive and with the price of gas these days, we changed our mind. Also, Canada just lifted the need to rapid test before coming back to Canada on the day we come back, so that's a plus! No worries about getting stuck in the states now if one of us ever did test positive and were asymptomatic.

    Well, I'm at the office today so I better get at it. Check back later.

    Not much to report today. Thank goodness it's Friday! I'm off after today until April 5. We head to Minneapolis on Tuesday. The weather isn't nice out today. It's snowing off and on and it just looks like a blah cold day.

    I wanted to mention a new app I'm using for workouts that has really helped me. It's called FitOn and my favorite part of it is that you can pick a workout by time or type. It has stretching workouts and meditation on there. I like the quick stretching ones for during the day when I'm working. I did a hard intensity weight one the other day and after 4 days I can finally walk normally lol Sheesh, it's probably similar to the Apple Workouts, but this one is free. There are some paid parts to it if you want to go that route, but I don't. If you do download it, find me with my user name - @kellya6003

    Kelly, that's awesome! I love the Apple workouts . . but I may get tired of paying for them, lol. Maybe I'll find you on that app. Either way, I'm so glad you're working out, especially weight / resistance training . . you know how I feel about that! Be careful on your drive and have a wonderful time!! A vacation and change of scenery is calling to me too, after all the Covid, weddings, births, deaths and stressful times! We all need to take time off! I've never been to Minneapolis, so I'll look forward to hearing about it. My grandmother loved it there . . I think she had friends there she would visit. Enjoy.

    Quickly checking in after logging food. I will check out that app, Kelly. Thanks! And you're an inspiration with your workouts.

    I, too, like Minneapolis. I'll never forget that one time I got on their version of the metro with my ticket, which no one seemed to check. So I asked a local, and she said that they only check them periodically--otherwise, it's the honor system. I love it! A place where people are honest enough to have an honor system. If only DC were like that! Anyway, I love the above-city walkways and breakfast at Hell's Kitchen. Be safe and have fun. And it's snowing a bit here today, too. March is fickle.

    Sheesh, hope you also have a wonderful and safe trip. Like Kelly, I'm very envious. I'm afraid until I get some income coming in that we are going to be staying home. So have fun for both of us. :)
