April 9
I am someone who deserves to take care of herself. Every day I track my calories and stay under my number. Every day I try to fit in 3 types of intentional movement - MommaStrong, walking, and stretching, with a goal of doing each one at least 4x a week.
Yesterday was another pass day. My mom is visiting and babysat my kids so that my wife and I could go OUT to dinner to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We hadn't been out to dinner inside together in MANY years - like long before COVID. It was fantastic. (I really hope we didn't get COVID).
I planned and tracked the day up to that point, keeping calories on the lower side but not going in super hungry. We walked to town for the fun of it but also for the exercise. And as we ordered I said, "I want to enjoy all the food but not overeat because then my belly will hurt and that will actually be less fun than if I just enjoy the right amount of food." And I stuck to that, listening to my body's cues and thoroughly enjoying bites from many small plates (truly impossible to track) and did not wind up feeling sick and am actually down 0.2 pounds this morning. So all lovely!
Best wishes to those of you who are ill or otherwise struggling. Seems like a hard month for many.6 -

I feel exhausted after the long walk this morning. My knees are hurting a bit and Iβm wondering if Iβll be able to do a similarly long walk tomorrow as planned. Otherwise, all is good!4 -

Positive Identity Based Habits.
Who am I?
I am a person who values the health and fitness of my body, mind, and spirit.
I have been working on creating/adapting habits which support my identity. Itβs a work in progress.
Who are you?
What one small change can you make that will support this identity?
Thank you for this. I am going to echo your identity statement.
I am a person who values the health and fitness of my mind, body and spirit.
One small change I can make this week to move forward to support this identity is to eat within my calorie budget. I will aim to be successful this week for a minimum of 5 out of 7 days.
Other things I can do are:
1) I will book more treatment for plantar fasciitis.
2)I will book an eye appointment.
