This morning, I swam for an hour. What movement have others completed today?

@DMVButterfly what do you do when you swim? I'm thinking I might also start swimming at a nearby pool that has just reopened after the months of pandemic closure. I am going to claim standing for most of the morning at my standing desk (I know that doesn't count as a lot but it is something I don't normally do) and I'm about to stand folding laundry for an hour. So that is not technically dedicated exercise but it is something movement-related, instead of my typical sedentary day.0

@jlbateman2017 standing counts for A LOT when it's something you haven't normally done. Regarding swimming, I use pool weights. My pool is at a gym and they have pool exercise equipment.
The weights I use can be found on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Kiefer-Workout-Dumbbells-Diameter-Resistance/dp/B00N1AN6E8/ref=asc_df_B00N1AN6E8?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80195681205778&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583795260670871&th=1 These give A LOT of resistance. Today, I did 4 laps of breast stroke with wt, 4 laps of freestyle with wt, 4 laps of back stroke with wt, 4 laps of freestyle without wt, 4 laps of freestyle without wt, and 4 laps of backstroke without wt. This took me an hour. After this, I did jump squats, lunges, punches (with my arms under water), push ups and tricep dips on the side of the pool, and wall sits with shoulder presses. I vary what I do, but try to get in at least 30 minutes of lap swimming with 30 minutes of resistance training in the pool. When I first returned to the pool, I didnt use weights. It took me 3 months to add these weights.
There are wts that dont give as much resistance so you can build up. Some less resistant wts are here https://www.amazon.com/Trademark-Innovations-Aquatic-Exercise-Dumbells/dp/B010RBF2C2/ref=pd_lpo_2?pd_rd_i=B010RBF2C2&th=1
I want to lose a few more pounds and add the following (not available at my gym, but I'll purchase):
aqua jogger built. I see people use these at the pool all the time in deep water. I haven't tried yet. I go into water I can stand in and do high knees jogging and butt kick jogging. But do want to try this so I can do deep water jogging. https://www.amazon.com/Speedo-Aerobic-Training-Charcoal-Medium/dp/B002FCH4VY/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=water+jogger+belt+for+pool&qid=1649267075&sr=8-9
The last thing I'm getting are these gloves that also provide resistance. https://www.amazon.com/Swimming-Training-Neoprene-Fitness-Resistance/dp/B08SJW8GFR/ref=sr_1_4_sspa?crid=MCY0F3R7L93E&keywords=water+gloves&qid=1649267393&sprefix=water+gloves,aps,85&sr=8-4-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExMEZVWlpDWkc3V1NEJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNjExNjA1Mk40Sk04UVpIQVkzOCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMDI1MTE0MVlKRjBCVkdBSlpQSCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1&psc=1

@jlbateman2017 I've considered the following, but I don't want to spend the money now. Maybe it'll be a treat when I hit my goal weight - which I'd like to hit by 30JUL2023. I have ton of dumbells, bars with plates, and kettle bells at home. So, I don't need to spend money on these now. Hardly anyone swims at my pool which is why I feel it's a lower risk. I don't use the other equipment in the gym yet.

@DMVButterfly . There is a pool near me that is open from 9-10 pm at night which is the only time I can get there right now...I love swimming though. I always have! Even at 41 when I get in the water I literally feel like a big kid! lol I appreciate the links too! Helpful and your workout is inspiring.0
