Yes. I am hungrier when I workout. Expecially when I do weights. It always makes me want a snack like 2 hours after. One of my 'notes to self' is to review information about how much calories and what kind (fat, protein or carbs) I should eat after the workout to refuel my body. I have never really looked into it but have heard a LOT of people, include the workout video leaders talk about refueling after workouts. Also, from your other posts @DMVButterfly it sounds like you enjoy swimming and that excercise, hands down gets me very very hungry. I used to swim for a swim team in jr high and I was always hungry after and if I get into doing laps I experience that too.0

@jlbateman2017 i actually looked this up before reading your question. i've been swimming again since OCT2020, but my eating remained crap. last month, i recommitted to healthy nutrition combined with swimming to lose weight. i was swimming daily. my gym has 4 pools. the one i swim in is a heated therapeutic pool. 2 days in a row, that side was full and i could only reserve a lane in the master class pool that isn't heated. my swim was at 5am on those days. by 3pm i was starving, but had eaten my regular meals. i thought it was because the master pool is about 10-15 feet longer than the therapeutic pool. after research i learned that THE COLDER THE WATER, THE HUNGRIER ONE GETS. it's a scientific fact. i stay in the heated pool as much as possible, but have days when I can't.
I move forward with that knowledge and I control it rather than it control me.
1. I eat like clockwork every 4 hours. breakfast, lunch, (sometimes a snack), and then dinner.
2. I stick to my calories daily
3. I burn btwn 400-550 calories an hour when I swim (I wear a tracker). I will eat something small before the swim like a cup of green tea and a kiwi fruit, half of a honey crisp apple, 1/2 of a banana, a tablespoon or two of greek yogurt. just something where i'm not on empty. otherwise, i stick to my eating schedule. FIGHT THROUGH THE CRAVINGS and HUNGER PAINS AND THEY WILL GO AWAY. MINE TYPICALLY TAKE 2-4 DAYS BEFORE MY BODY/MIND RESETS TO A HEALTHY REGIMINE. trainer jillian michaels has said it can take some people up to 2 weeks. hang in there.
4. i eat protein, carbs and fat at breakfast and lunch. i limit carbs to no more than 1.5 cups per meal or 2 slices of whole grain bread when trying to lose weight. when i'm trying to lose weight, i DO NOT OR AT BEST TRY NOT TO eat complex carbs after 3pm. the only carbs i eat after 3pm are from veggies or berries. I usually limit carbs to btwn 100-125. this produces great weight loss for me. i can eat up to 150 grams of carbs a day and still lose .5-1 lbs a week.0
