Hi Swimmers!
I posted in the forum about my swimming success over the last 2 months, and a sweet member of this group suggested I join.
I used to enjoy recreational swimming in my teens, but stopped and never got into it again. During a group challenge in February, we had to try someone else's food and exercise - I chose swimming and I have been in the pool 4+ times a week since then!
For some background/context -
I'm 32, F, 5'1", SW Jan 2022 240lbs, CW 205lbs.
My exercise levels until January consisted of maybe a 15 minute walk every other day.
To show my continued improvements, here is a little comparison between my first session, one around mid way, and most recent PB πͺπ
During my first session (Feb 13) -
30 lengths
750 meters
Average pace (mins) / 100m - 8'53"
Around midway from beginning (Mar 9)
40 lengths
1000 metres
Average pace (mins) / 100m - 4'29"
Most recent PB (Apr 6)
60 lengths
1500 metres
Average pace (mins) / 100m - 3'55"
I'm continuing to push myself further and faster!

Hooray! You found us! Things are pretty quiet, but there are still folks swimming (and some of us who are juuuuust now getting back to it) I did my water fitness class last night. I used to swim laps for an hour prior to class, but it's been two years, so I'd never make it an hour now. Also, there were only two lap lanes and they were both already circling. I'm going to pick an earlier time to start lap swimming again. I suspect I'm slow, and with very little endurance...

Hey there Gemma!
Yeah, I'm just back on here again post Covid - been outdoor swimming, but my Garmin watch doesn't track outdoor swims (dunno why - even tried the 'put it into SUP mode' trick, but nada.) so not bothered posting on here. Plus my diet plan went to the dogs.
But here I am again! So, many thanks for posting cos that means I get notified and prompted to use MFP groups again. :-)0 -

This post really inspires me. Impressive improvement over two months! I am at a similar SW and am currently working up to 30 lengths. How do you measure your average pace?
