Intermittent Fasting and Running

I've been a runner for years but in the last week, I have started intermittent fasting for the health benefits and to get a little leaner.
My question is to other runners here that practice intermittent fasting. Any tips? Warning signs? Do's and don'ts?
Ran 5 this morning near the end of a 16 hour fast, which was my longest run since starting the 16/8 fasting ratio I am currently using. I felt fine but was slower this morning (humidity was way up too, though, so it was also a factor). The protocol I am following will have me up to 20 and maybe a 22 hour fast by the end of the opening 4 weeks and I am wondering how well I can manage longer (more than 5K distances) runs while also on a long fast.
Appreciate hearing about your experience.
