The LTL tread reminded me of something I witnessed in an airport.
Checking a bag in the days when that meant going through the line. We get to the counter, they weigh the bag, getting boarding passes, a ok. I notice the guy next to us. There’s an issue. His bag is too heavy, apparently by a lot.
They open the bag and start removing his dumbbells. I don’t know exactly what he had, at least 10s, 12s, 15s, 2 of each. “You can’t take these.” “But how am I going to do my workout?” Don’t know but you can’t take these.” Last I saw was his stunned look of disbelief as we walked away.

I’ll make the obvious connections that the dumbbells weren’t only in the suitcase . . .
Nice to work out; better to research and plan ahead.1 -
Maybe he was concealing contraband in the dumbbells. Did he look fit? If not...hmmmmm0

I always remember going through security at the Atlanta airport, there was a display case of the items you cannot take on the plane with you, among them was a chain saw, a firemans axe, and a can of gasoline, it always made me laugh, now I guess they need to add dumbells!0
