I cannot believe I just typed "June"! It seems like yesterday was New Years Day with all my resolutions . . LOL. I've only checked off a few . . cleaning some closets and such, and my weight is up since then. Well, I'll try to not get discouraged.

Lois, good for you getting so much cleaning and organizing done. Let us know how the food service is. And, I'm sorry for the loss of a friend. There sure has been a lot of loss the last couple of years. :/

Sarah, your numbers are so good, they've been an inspiration for me, but no matter what I do I can't get my calorie burn up that high. The weather is finally getting nicer here (after a rainy and cold Memorial Day weekend) so I'm planning to do some outdoor, brisk walking to see if I can catch up to you!

Our daughter in Oregon ended up testing positive for Covid also, along with her oldest (12 yo) daughter. Her youngest is still negative (10 yo). Daughter is only mildly sick, and went for a walk outside yesterday, but her 12 yo had a rough day yesterday. SIL is feeling better. Hubby and I tested negative Sunday, but since it took 5-6 days for them to test positive, we plan to test again tonight. I want to be sure we're negative before my trainer comes tomorrow, and hubby has golf group tomorrow. We're going to send daughter's family a Door Dash meal tomorrow. Her friends there have been great . . bringing dinners, etc. I feel helpless not being there, but she is happy we're not. . she's been so worried we'll get Covid. She knows our health issues, and it scares her. But, I'm starting to think we'll all have to get it at some point since it wasn't stopped properly at the beginning. We were boosted again on April 6, and I think that helped. We're feeling good.

Kelly, I hope things are going well for you . . I noticed your weather has been nicer than ours here! We need the water, so I guess the rainy (and even snowy in the mountains) weather here is good, but it looks like a stingy Spring and quick Summer temps are in store for us.

    I'm with you, Sheesh. It seems impossible that it's June already. I am sorry to hear that your daughter and granddaughter also have Covid, but am relieved to hear that they are not seriously sick. So far, the people I know who got vaccinated and boostered but still got this new strain have had fairly mild cases. Even my hairdresser, who got it from his girlfriend who is a nurse, fared pretty well in spite of being at very high risk because he is a kidney transplant recipient.

    And I'm envious of your taking an outside walk. We are in the high 90's with very high humidity, so walking outside is not possible. I used to walk at night when it was cooler, but since my fall last August, I'm less inclined to do that. And I have no idea how much longer the mall will be open. There are virtually no stores left except Macy's and maybe a dozen smaller shops. Yesterday, there was a Lens Crafters (which is usually busy). Today, Lens Crafters was gone! It happened overnight. I had hoped the mall would stay open through the hot, muggy summer, but I'm really beginning to doubt it. If you walk with someone, time goes fast, so getting all those steps is not that hard. Once that ends, I think I'll be hard pressed to get these numbers.

    So, I have no idea what I weighed last week, since that was the day of my colonoscopy, but I think I was somewhere around where I am today. I seem to be in a holding pattern. I keep reminding myself that I once stayed in the 142's for like 3 months, but finally got things moving again--but I don't know. My body does not seem to want to stay below 130.

    My numbers are not good at all this week. Not only did I have prep day and then the colonoscopy, but I also got virtually no activity in on Memorial Day. I shopped in the morning for the food I needed to prepare and take to our friends. Then I came home and cooked, and then showered and got on the road. We did not get home until after 10 p.m., and once we put away dishes, fed the kitties, etc., it was 11 p.m. and I just did not have enough oomph left to get on the TM. So I have 2-1/2 sedentary days, but here goes:

    7-day averages
    Steps = 9,561
    Kcals burned = 1,630
    Stairs = 12 floors

    Lois, I am always leery about sites that want a CC number before a final checkout. I have been burned, too. Hope the meals are still healthy and tasty. Having shopping, cooking, and most of the clean-up taken off your to-do list will give you more time to do things for yourself.

    Kelly, like Sheesh, I always check the weather in Winnipeg and think of you. I suspect that once summer begins, you probably have some nice weather. We have had such a long cool and wet spring that it feels like we jumped from March right into July! Will you be going to that gorgeous lake again this year?

    Mentioning wet, I probably should not complain. Hubby just told me that in California, water rationing may be around the corner, as Lake Mead is way, way down. Scary!

    Well, time to run. We need to make a Lowe's run for shredded mulch for the herb bed.

    Good morning all,

    Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Again, it's just been a busy couple weeks. I'm still struggling to find a routine that works for me and my life and unfortunately have been finding myself making not so healthy choices more often than not. It's really time to buckle down.

    I had a great sleep last night, but only because I was exhausted from not getting enough sleep over the past few days. Our weather has not been fantastic. Actually it's total BS lol It rains almost every day and when it's not raining, it's windy. We've had only a couple really nice days in the past few weeks. Huge rain storms with tons of water and our southern part of our province is still under flood waters. The highway to the states is still closed as it's under water. Today is another gloomy, rainy day. I really need that sun! Thank goodness for vitamin D pills.

    Sarah - Yes! We are going to that cabin again this year for July 10-17. Sooo looking forward to that. My husband is turning 50 this year on July 11, so we'll also have to have some sort of party or something for him before we head there. I can't remember if I mentioned or not, but we're also going to Knoxville, Iowa this year in August for one of my husband bucket list trips. It's the Knoxville Nationals and it's sprint car races. Apparently it's quite the event and he's ALWAYS wanted to go, so this year him and I are going. Those are basically our 2 big trips for the summer. Gas is insanely high in our country (not sure about there) so we have to watch how much traveling we do. $1.97/litre... and 1 litre is equal to 0.264 gallon, so I'm sure you could do the math and figure out how insane that is. I filled our Jeep Grand Cherokee the other day and it cost me $145. F'in crazy.

    Sheesh - So sorry to hear your family has covid. Hopefully they can stick with just the cold symptoms. Everyone I know here that has it has said it's all mild, like a cold with some added exhaustion basically.

    Sorry quick post. Work is calling!

    Happy Friday ladies. Sorry...It's been a super crazy week with laptop issues to boot.
    We have the roofers redoing our roof and they start BEFORE 5am...so I'm tired and cranky. They've only been here since Wednesday though it seems like a MONTH already. Anyhow, they should be done with the main house today and doing the patio tomorrow morning. SO instead of pounding above my head tomorrow, they'll be right out side my bedroom. And it appears, while we weren't experiencing any roof "leaks" the rain was penetrating the underlayment and we've had to replace several sheets of wood. So still good timing to get it done.

    Food delivery. The food from Factor 75 was pretty darn good. All except one that had a whole chicken breast, but hubby really liked it (remember that I haven't been able to eat a whole chicken breast in a couple of years - cause unknown - texture and taste is YUCKY). Anyhow, the shredded chicken ones were delicious. I will order again, but not this week since we will be in cali on Wed.

    This is the first week of our "summer hours" so I'm off at noon. Woot woot!! Actually, since I started at 6, I could knock off at 10...

    I have not done my oculus stuff the past few days because, well, I'm exhausted. Seriously. I can't do 5am and function. Last night I didn't get upstairs as early as I wanted, last I looked at the clock was 9:05 but I'm soooo tired today. Wed and yesterday as the guys took their lunch breaks hubby came and got me to go lay down and take a cat nap while it was quiet. It helped.

    Sheesh - good job on the reduction and yeah - I can't believe we're into June already! Hoping the family gets through the COVID stuff quickly and prayers you and hubby don't contract it at all and continue to test negative. Thanks for the compliment on getting cleaned/organized. It feels so good when I go to bed and wake up and the room is not dusty and is the way it should be. Now to get hubby to finish the mess he has going in the living room.

    Sarah - I'm hoping you're able to find a way to keep walking. It seems to work for you.

    Kelly - hang in there. Being a mom with kids/hubby in sports is an awesome experience and you will find a way to find you time. I know you will. My doc started me on the D3 pills when we had covid and has told me to take them every day. I added them to my morning routine but I don't think about any other benefit from them. Your cabin trip in July sounds amazing.

    We were supposed to have Rhea for a double overnight, but the kids plans changed a bit. Then they were coming up to swim tomorrow to swim and hang out, but because the roofers will be doing the back patio, we pushed it to Sunday. They'll come up for a few hours on Sunday. If the roofers/painter finish early, I may call them to come up and stay overnight. I mean the patio is only 10x30 and they'll be here at 5am. Probably done by 10. haha. They do a good job cleaning up after themselves each day. It looks like a war zone while they're here.

    My son in law called us last night from his parents in OH. He and his parents are coming to AZ next Monday (the 13th) so we'll get to see him again before he goes back to Okinawa in on the 19th. They are moving his parents to AZ so they are closer to one of the daughters (Cam and Kelsie's mom).

    I can't wait until daughter and son in law are once again stateside. Part of our plans with the inheritance is to go back to our whole family vacations each year. We stopped after my daughter moved from HI and we'd only done a couple since then (with my MIL issues and such there were always other things pressing). Since they've just been traveling back stateside for mom's funeral and moving his parents, we can't this year, but we've started make a list of what to do as a family next year - hoping they'll be able to travel back or be transferred state side.

    Gotta get back to work.
