What device does everyone use to track their steps? It’s been a long time and trying to figure out what would be the easiest/ work the best

Depends on your objective, I assume. I’m not someone who tracks their steps - but my Apple Watch does. That’s not why I bought it, but it’s part of the overall suite of functions. I’m sure it’s much more expensive than a basic pedometer, and also more expensive than a standard FitBit. Some of the functions I use that help me are:
- I track my sleep pattern, and it’s helped me understand some of what drives a good nights sleep.
- I bought it for its ability to detect A-fib.
- It included an animated Mickey Mouse watch face, which I haven’t had for a while.
- It prompts me to stand for a portion of at least twelve hours of the day.
- It lets me track specific activities, including the duration, heart rate, cooldown rate, etc.
- It has an EKG function that has actually proved helpful in a recent discussion with my doctor.
- I can do a timer from my watch, so I know stupid stuff like it's time to flip the burgers.
- It includes fall detection, and will place calls to a contact and to EMS in the absence of a response.
- It includes a remote function to trigger the shutter in my iPhone's camera.
(I’ve been 6,267 steps so far today.)1 -
I've used FitBit since 2015. Had a FitBit1 (now no longer sold), a Charge, a Versa2, and now a Versa3. TOL now has an Aspire.
WE both track steps (she almost always has more, from walking the dog), and now both of us do the 250 steps per hour for 12 consecutive hours challenge (gets us moving every hour), and check sleep stats. I also check heart rate (both current and average).
One cravat, if you don't get it through "regular" sales channels, they don't honor the warrantee.

I don’t track in terms of keeping a daily log. What I have done though is use the fitness feature on my IPhone to see how many steps there are on my daily walk. Since I usually do 1 of 2 different routes I don’t need to track it every day. The long route is about 8500 steps, the short route 7000.1

I use a Japanese precision pocket pedometer (uses accelerometer) that tracks daily steps, miles walked, cumulative total for one-week and two-weeks. It's called an NL-2000 and is available from new-lifestyles.com0

Fitbit for me, currently the Sense1. It does almost everything the apple watch does and also includes a pretty decent phone App which makes it convient on a screen size that my old eyes can actually see. In addition there is a comunity of fitbit users than can be supportive from tips and tricks to challenges you can join.0

I just use the health tracker in Noom, which is linked to my iPhone's health app. I have an actual step counting watch, but it doesn't interface with Noom. So, I don't use it, currently.0

Just got my Consumer Reports, and they’re recommending the FitBit Inspire 2 as a pedometer.0

Recently began using a fitbit2 last 2-3 weeks. Prior to that I used the Samsung Health app to teach steps. Not as accurate as the fitbit2. DWgad the fitbit2 given to her and she thought it works be better if I used it and of course she's right.1

I have to be honest that I don’t care about absolute accuracy. I use my counts to motivate me to move. I try to achieve a count anywhere between 6,000 and 8,000. If I get a number in there, then I have hit my target range, regardless the precision. For me, that is good enough, and it has worked.2
