Ughh. That's what a high sodium day will do to you! I was 129.2 two days ago! But Hubby loves salt and usually adds more than a recipe calls for. And last night he made Ellie Krieger's pork medallions with cherry sauce. It's very good and low in fat and calories. But Ellie tends to not use much salt at all, so although I like a little more, he went very heavy. He even admitted it! So I hope the scale moves down a bit tomorrow. But I also know that I've been in this range for a while, and I think it may be time to get honest with myself about whether I'm willing to do what it will take to get me to 125 or below, and if not, decide what are other fitness and nutrition goals that I need to set and work on. I'll get back to you on that!
Here are my 7-day averages for last week. They are pretty good, but not as high as some weeks. I have quit obsessing about the 1,800 burn. It did not appear that going down to the treadmill before bed to get an extra 100 kcals made that much of a difference. Most days, without doing that, I'm in the 1,700 to 1,750 range.
Steps = 12,629
Kcals burned = 1,726
Stairs = 13 flights
I got in a little less time walking with my buddy today because she was dealing with Social Security (never fun) and I had my annual eye appointment and it ran a little longer than expected. But I did get in 10K steps even though my eyes were still dilated and I had to wear my sunglasses indoors.
I am trying to get a bunch of appointments taken care of that I've postponed for one reason or another. I still need to see the dermatologist and I need to have a doppler on my legs. I had what I thought was a bruise that wasn't going away, but it turned out to be a vein. So my doc wants to know what is going on beneath that. Is it always something? But my eyes are healthy, cataracts are tiny (that is good and bad, as I'd like to have the surgery because it would correct my vision) and I have no signs of macular degeneration. And oddly, my vision in right eye stayed that same, but my vision in my left eye improved. But little by little, I'm checking things off the to-do list.

Sunday, we are going to the ballgame. The Nats are in rebuild and are really lousy this year, but it's still fun to watch. And we are once again getting tickets for free! Our neighbor's brother is giving her his three seats and she invited us. It's supposed to be a beautiful day in the low 80's, so I hope to get some walking in down there. Sheesh, our weather has been a lot like yours--bouncing from the 60s to the high 90's. It's hot here now, and I hear we have another extremely hot and humid band of weather coming in here at the first of the week, so I'm going to enjoy the weekend.
Hope everyone is doing okay and that all your family members are, too. Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

 I really wish I could get more than .2 lbs at a time, but it seems the way my body works week to week. I've been eating a rotating menu of 3 or 4 different meals, and I know the calorie content of them, so I've slacked off on logging every day. But, I need to get back to doing it and measuring and weighing . . I think the portions creep up otherwise. I hope that will get me more progress.
 Sarah, good for you getting all the delayed things checked off. It's been difficult to catch jump after Covid. By the way, my eyes have improved every year for several years now . . at least in distance vision. My doctor says that's not unusual because as we age the eye changes . . the word she used was "flattens". I don't know . . it's weird though. Have fun at the ball game . . they're always an enjoyable evening even if the home team isn't good. Your step numbers are so good. Keep up the great work.
 Lois, I'm wondering how the virtual workouts are.
 Kelly, I hope you can find time to check in.

            Happy Wednesday Ladies.
 So I'm higher today than I've been 230.1 (yesterday was 227.5), but like Sarah said, it's what we eat the night before. Last night our son in law come back from OH and stayed with us. We ordered burgers from Red Robin (YUM). We also had them a bit later in the evening than I usually eat so, that has an impact as well. So yeah. I'm owning it. I'm not doing much to deter it. I haven't really been playing with the Oculus, though the other night Audrey called and we played for almost 45 mins. I felt it in my legs the next day and even today (squats to avoid the overhead things coming at me). Anyway, it was fun. Work has been insane and today I'm really tired. I started sleeping upstairs. I can't say my sleep is any better, nor is my back much better so I don't know where to go or what to do to get the rest that I surely need.
 So a little Costco story. This might make you smile... Remember that I bought the new grill for almost $2k in May? well it came with a $300 cash card, so essentially making it $1699. Well that sucker is now on sale for $1499. So I submitted online for the price difference of $200. Well, since I bought it more than 30 days ago (34 to be exact), they refused to do the price adjustment. So I called the customer service line, the gal on the phone attempted to help but her supervisor also declined the adjustment since the online team sent the decline. So, I told her I wanted to return this one and I'll buy it again. So they are going to large item deliver a new one, assemble it and then have another team come and dis assemble the one I have and large delivery return it. Then they will issue my refund of $1699 and charge me for the new one. Really? Ok. It doesn't matter to me, it's just more wasted money on their side. We haven't used it yet so all is well. I don't think the girl on the phone thought I would go through with it...ha! They don't know me very well. I'm a penny/dollar watcher. And yes, I watch my dollars go at Starbucks, but that's my choice. I'm not just going to leave $200 on the table. So the new grill will be here Friday, assemblers on Saturday and the picker uppers on Tuesday. At least I have something to smile about.
 The weather is HOT HOT HOT. AC is running almost nonstop.
 Sarah - stay on top of your health and appointments.
 Sheesh - you are an inspiration.
 Kelly - missing your posts and updates.

 I'll take it. I have been doing a little more than normal exercise and movement wise, and I have been somewhat paying attention to what and how much I eat, but nothing drastic. I feel pretty good where I'm at, but definitely know there's room for improvements here and there. Sorry I didn't have a chance to post yesterday when I normally post.
 Lois - OMG. That's too funny because that has happened to us before too, but with smaller items. They have no limit date on when you can actually return an item, but they do with the money difference. So we've legit tried at the customer service desk to get the difference back, with the same issue, then just said ok we'll return it then. After we'd just walk into the store and buy it at the cheaper price. So dumb and such a waste of paperwork and time for them. And I'm so jealous you have that Oculus! I follow a fitness person on Instagram who has one and plays Supernatural all the time and she sweats sooo bad while using it. She loves it. I might have to buy myself one, someday.
 Sarah - If your current fitness goals in regards to your weight aren't working and are constantly making you feel let down, then you definitely have the right mindset of looking at adjusting them. I fully believe that sometimes our bodies are better performing and adapt better at a certain weight. Mine is 145-150ish and rarely have I ever been lighter. Even going back to high school days I was always around 140.
 Good for you for getting those appointments done!
 Sheesh - How's your foot been doing? Fully back to normal now?0

            Kelly - Great job at focusing and reducing. And Right on with Costco? And with large delivery too! Ah well. I do love them overall and yes, we've done the same. When denied at the CS desk, go in re-purchase it with our current shopping and then return to the CS desk to return with the overpriced receipt. So silly I tell ya. If you do get the Oculus, let me know and connect with me. I did download Supernatural but I haven't yet logged in. I was so tired yesterday after work.0

            Well, it's Monday again, although a holiday here in Maryland (Juneteenth). I have been struggling a bit with my weight. I'm hovering the past few days around 131, which is higher than it has been for a while. I'm not seeing a change in intake and activity, but surely there's some kind of change somewhere. The only change I can think of is that I've started taking Metamucil again to hopefully stave off any future attacks of diverticulitis. But that's only 40 kcal a day, and my deficit is usually more than that. But I'll keep logging and looking for ways to at least eat healthier and move a little more.
 Yesterday, we went to the ballgame, and it was a wonderful day to do so. We had unseasonably cool temps, and although sunny, it was also a little breezy, so we stayed very comfortable. The bad part of that was ballgame food. We were in line for a sandwich when the vendor announced that they had run out of bread, and so there would be a long wait. Since our neighbor who gave us the tickets and was with us had already gotten a piece of pizza and had been back in her seat for a while, we gave up the ghost and got pizza, too. Not tasty and very greasy! But I held it to one piece of pizza and water.
 The food, and the fact that our neighbor talks constantly (and also talks fast, jumps from subject to subject, and repeats herself!) were the only downsides of the day, as somehow our struggling team managed to beat a very good team 9 to 3. But although we walked to and from the Metro and walked inside the park some, a ballgame day includes more sitting than anything else, so I only had 5K steps when we got back. It took all the oomph I could muster, but I did get on the TM and had more than 11K at the end of the day. Good news is that the heat wave that was supposed to come in on Tuesday or Wednesday seems to have headed elsewhere, and so we are just going to have seasonal temps this week. That means much hotter than the past two days, but not hell on earth temps with high humidity. I am so grateful.
 Talk about hot places, we were hoping that gas prices would go down a bit, but it looks like we are going to need to get to NC to check on family before that happens. I think we'll probably go mid-July. I wish these trips were more enjoyable, but with my sister's condition, they just are not. However, it is good to just change surroundings for a short time, and hubby and I can always find a little fun enroute.
 Well, time to get busy. I hope everyone is having a good start to their week.0
