Fellow Shape Shifters told us that sharing milestones and success stories is motivating! This is your chance to shine 🤩 while helping others learn some successful strategies to replicate. Feel free to build on one of the ideas below or anything else that makes you proud.
- Have you overcome a challenge?
- How did you do it?
- What non-scale victories (NSV) made you smile?
- Have you sustained a positive habit that now feels easy or natural?
- Have you learned any tricks to maintain such great consistency?
- What milestones are you happy or proud to report?
- How did you get to this successful point?
- What’s your next goal?
I’m looking forward to hearing about anything that comes to mind. Best wishes and I hope you enjoy the weekend!
Nice loss this week @PatriceFitnessPal !!
I've been working on my attitude this week...counting all of the things I'm grateful for has really helped remind me how much I have going for me. My NSV this week is that I'm two days into the renovation and I'm so happy and excited at what i'm seeing. I've only eaten out once during that time and it was well within my calories, heavy on protein, light on fat and full of broccoli! I'm still leaning heavily into apples as my main snack after lunch, in the afternoons.
This COVID scare has been a pill, but so far I'm feeling ok and I really think my test tomorrow will be negative. I have had a little bit of a sore throat and some sneezing but I have year-round allergies and that's what it feels like to me. I will let you guys know in the morning how it goes. I'm scheduled to go back to the office on Tuesday unless it's positive. AND STILL my attitude has been good.
How did I get to this successful point...not giving in when times get hard, cravings hit or I get to feeling "woe is me"...this is the hand I was dealt and I'm learning that if I want something, I either have to cut a few corners and make it a little healthier or limit my portions and just eat a portion of it. Eat to live...don't live to eat...
My next goal is to get back to the scale in a couple of weeks. I've been taking a break...and then hit it hard again, work the plan, cut back a little more than I have been and keep my attitude happy and ready to work. I want to see those numbers come down again...
Hope you've had a good week! Thanks for supporting me through good times and bad...and for keeping it real!
@pupowl loved the pictures of the birds, the butterflies and the roads you're walking...I love that you take the time to share that with us...beautiful job!

This should be the last remnants of the vacation gain so I’m ok with that. A bit of a splurge today, since it was my birthday, but could have been a lot worse. I went to Starbucks for my birthday treat. Many years it was a double chocolate chip Frappuccino. Today I got a venti iced cold brew with a splash of almond milk and three pumps mocha syrup. Less than 100 calories and I didn’t feel deprived at all!
Has my second nutritionist appointment today and vacation really messed up my numbers all around. If I can’t get back on track by the next appointment, she’s going to recommend I go on a low carb diet. I really have to work on increasing my water intake and getting my walks in. The triple digit heat is really making it challenging to get out and walk, and I think that’s affecting my blood glucose levels.4 -

Thank you, @PatriceFitnessPal and @CasandraW for your insights. Casandra, I hope I can change my relationship to food the way you have. I took a screenshot of your comments, so that I can keep referring to it.1

Wanted to let my friends know that my COVID test this morning came back NEGATIVE!! I went outside to walk (for a bit) and was able to go get groceries. I feel fine and had a feeling it was going to be negative, but you never know until you know...thanks for all the kind words of support from many of you in emails, texts and private messages. It was very sweet!

Very busy work week. Extra hours and responsibilities were involved, so I'm grateful to have today (Saturday) off. I was looking forward to working around the yard and house, but my enthusiasm is lagging. Oh well, rest isn't a bad thing. Maybe tomorrow will be more productive.
I do enjoy reading the posts here. You are an inspirational group.
So far today I have been honest about logging calorie intake and I'm working on paying attention to how my body and emotions are responding to food and eating. Goal now is to see it through evening.1 -

Thank you all for the nice comments. I feel super lucky to live so close to nature.
Glad to hear your test was negative Jessica!
Yukie: It's awesome to me you think my pictures are good enough to sell. However, I am just an amateur and taking pictures like mine isn't that special! Instagram is full of people like that. That's okay though, I mainly photograph for myself. Sharing them with you guys is just a nice little extra.3 -

Hello Shape Shifters! Boring post from me this time. I have been too tired and lazy to go for a walk. I planned to at one point and then it said it was going to rain, which never happened of course. So It's been mostly doing laundry, getting some groceries. I did have a bit of a laugh with Tinus. Last evening when I was outside with Tinus, the guy across the street turned on his sprinklers. Tinus was very fascinated, no idea why, so he trotted over to get a closer look. I think he liked the sound the drops made on the street. Anyway, he literally sat down in the line of fire (well, water...) to look at the sprinkler. He then proceeded to get wet four times before he realised what was going on, got mad and sprinted back to our yard. I do question his intelligence sometimes.
It is going to be extremely hot here on Tuesday, currently predicting 37 degrees which is insane. So I expect this week might turn out a bit lazy as well. But I will try to do something tomorrow.
Happy Sunday everyone3 -

Gotta share this as I just posted in in the Group Challenge a few minutes ago...
Somebody slap me...knowing it's in the 90s outside, making the heat index a 100+, this brilliant person decides to wash a load of clothes and turn on the dryer in the middle of the day...wait, I'm not done...THEN I decided to take my hot shower in the middle of the afternoon...sometimes I wonder which turnip truck I fell from as a child...sweating in and just out of the shower is NOT fun. LOL
