Yikes! Two full pounds after the 4th and our trip . . that's really unacceptable. I had fun and just kinda "let it all go" with eating . . so, I'm committing to you ladies that I'm back at it.
I tried to post photos from my phone, but was unsuccessful. I'll try again tomorrow when I have time. I just wanted to quickly start the new discussion, and then gotta run. I'll check back tomorrow.

Sorry to have been MIA so long. And I have no idea what I weighed on Wednesday. We left NC Wednesday to come back, and decided to once again cut the trip in half, so we arrived home Thursday in the early evening. Since then, we've been playing catch up, and although I've logged on and started to post several times, something has always come up and I've had to bail. Yesterday, it was a power outage, and we woke up again this morning with no power. I have no idea what is going on, but I suspect all the storms have brought down some trees.
When we left for NC on Saturday the 9th, it was pouring rain, and it rained until we arrived in NC on Sunday afternoon. I think it stopped about a half hour before we got to my sisters. And I'm talking heavy, heavy rain. That was not the way I had planned to spend my birthday!
Luckily, I had two nights with access to a fitness center (one during the last weigh-in week), and two days while in NC, hubby and I walked outside once the sun went down and it cooled off a bit. So my 7-day averages for July 6-12 were:
Steps = 11,749
Kcals burns = 1,727
Stairs = 12 flights
As I mentioned, I walked on the TM at the hotel last Wednesday night on the way back, but we ran into terrible traffic caused by an accident and also hitting rush hour on Thursday, so I gave myself a break that night and didn't even think about getting on the TM downstairs. (Well, I did think about it, but my body said, "let's not!") So, I expect my stats for July 13-19 will be pretty bad when I post on the 20th. Stairs should be especially low since my sister and brother-in-law live in a one-story home.
All in all, I'm glad we went, even though it was a rushed departure and a difficult drive. Not many of my cousins were able to attend, so I was glad to represent my generation. And the minister who conducted the service did a wonderful job and told nice and sometimes funny stories about my aunt. She was very active in the community until the very end and did lots of volunteer work. And I think she was still going to the gym less than a year ago (and she had just turned 92). So hopefully, I got some of her genes.
My sister, as usual, was not doing well. She had two doctors appointments while we were there, but other than those, she was not able to get out of bed. One day, she thought she might be up to going out to dinner, but shortly before we were to leave, she had to change her mind. Fortunately, her step-daughter who divorced a couple of years ago is building a home next door to them and will soon be able to check in on them regularly. My brother-in-law is in fairly good health, but he's 8 years older than my sister and is just getting too old to do as much as he has been. I really don't know how he manages to get her in and out of bed multiple times a day. I'm much younger and pretty strong, but I can't handle her.
Well, I need to think about getting ready to go the pool. We haven't been in a couple of weeks and I'm looking forward to relaxing with some of our neighbors. Hope all is well with everyone. Sheesh, we both gained a little during our "away from home" time, so we'll have to cheer each other on as we get back down to our pre-trip weight.

Hello ladies!
We got back on Sunday from the cabin. Always a relaxing and good time, but it will likely be our last time going. It's kind of losing it's luster a bit and we're thinking we'd like to do something different next year or save the money and go on a winter holiday. Plus Tyler will probably have a summer job next year, since he turns 15 in October.
We came home to a broken fridge. Ugh.. always something. Last year it was the pool that blew a hose and fully drained its water. So all of the food in the fridge and freezer was spoiled and we still don't have a working fridge. We have extra warranty, but you know what that's like trying to deal with. They initially told us that they couldn't schedule someone to come see what was wrong until August 12th.. like come on, seriously. Hubby has been on the phone non-stop and finally we've just decided to try get someone ourselves to come and give us a quote. If it's cheap enough, we'll just fix it ourselves and be done with it. The fridge is only 3 years old... can you believe that.?!
Next will be Shawn and I planning our trip to Iowa for the car races in a few weeks. I honestly haven't even thought about it, as I was so busy with his party and getting ready for the cabin.
Sarah - So sorry to hear about your Aunt. Big hugs from afar.
Sheesh - Glad you had a blast camping and enjoying all of the food
Lois - I hope your vertigo has gone away.
Just a quick check-in today. Hope all is well with everyone.0 -
