Newby - Calorie Counting

Hi - I am new to MFP and I have been calorie counting for a few months and training too. I am determined to get to my target weight.

I am finding calorie counting frustrating at the moment.

MFP is telling me to eat a specific amount of calories, do I hot this amount or should I reduce the amount in an attempt to lose weight?
I have tried reducing it by quite a bit although this doesn't seem to work for me?

Any advice is definitely appreciated!!
