Back to binging - why relapse now?

Hi there,
I was bulimic (starvation, used laxatives) in my late teens and early 20s. Since then, binging has always been a problem. In the past 20 years, it had gotten less and less serious. The last 2.5 year has been a major turning point for me, having lost 23 pounds (I am 5'3", now 110.5) and becoming a genuine workout addict. I recognize that binging would always be in my DNA; now armed with a very positive mind and body, I can shrug off occassional episodes ( hardly as bad as those I experienced in my 20s) and just move on. 15 mins of exercising always set my mind and body back on track.
But during the past few nights, I binged so much that got me thinking - what is happening? I am disappointed, I feel lousy (having a flu + PMS does not help). I am very aware of the triggers (at least the obvious one...any hidden?) but why do the episodes resurface now?
I would like to know if any of you have "gotten over" binging and was living happily..and found themselves in a "relapse".
thanks
