Hi, my name is Doomspark and I'm a Bookaholic.
Seriously - the last time we moved, we had 38 boxes of books, and that was after giving five boxes of books to the local library. I don't mind reading books on the computer (Project Gutenberg is my friend), but I love real books that I can hold in my hands. The vast majority of my personal library is not available for Nook or Kindle.
I'm very fortunate in that I married another bookaholic who understands my penchant.
Anyone else do "real books" instead of electronic?

Absolutely! I don't even have an electronic reader, although I bought a Kobo for my husband. I think I might tolerate one on holiday to save weight in my case, but that's the only reason - otherwise I love to know there's a book in my bag.
I'm a book-sniffer too - new books, not so fond of musty old books. The smell of a book is important - some smell better than others, and there's a certain smell some books have that reminds me of Christmas as powerfully as oranges and cloves and mulled wine!
I love the feel, smell and sound of a book in my hands! I love watching the thickness of the book shift from right to left as I progress. I sometimes hug books if I really love them.

Last year, one of my coworkers pushed me pretty hard to get a Kindle or Nook. That was when I figured out that most of my library wasn't available - and that it would cost me upwards of a thousand bucks to go electronic on the books that WERE. So I graciously declined.
I have an account on Library Thing, and I'm slowly adding my books there.0 -
Hello, my name is Alyssa, I have a problem. I am addicted to books.
Not like that is really a problem right? I collect books and DVDs – I have many of both. I received a Kindle as a “Pay-It-Forward” gift, it was a total shock to me. I never wanted one because I love paper books, but now I can get books on my kindle I can’t get in paper and now I have over 400 on my kindle. I have at least 200 in paperback/hardcover, this is not counting my non-fiction books. I have over 600 friends on facebook many of them are authors. Ha! I am a writer myself… Am I losing my mind?0
