Know what I got last night? Sleep! I feel so much better today.
I hope the job is calming down for you, Meghan!
Everyone else, have a good week!1 -
Good morning!
Totally forgot to post yesterday. Sorry about that!
Monday was a busy one and Tuesday I was back in the office and expecting the worst, but it wasn't that bad. Today is better!
Just sitting here watching the Hurricane via the internet while working. UGH.
Looked and see that they cancelled my family's flight out tomorrow night. I guess that is pretty much a no-duh at this point. The eye of the hurricane should be passing over them in the next few hours. They are on the west coast of Florida in the Fort Meyers vicinity. Fingers and toes crossed that there is no damage to them or to their house or my sister's house. It is my Dad, Step Mom, brother and pets hunkering down. My sister, her husband, and two kids left and went east to West Palm Beach, FL. The east coast where my Mom and Step Dad are should not be hit as bad.
Stressing but trying to stay calm. Worrying isn't going to help.
@KateNkognito yes I slept better last night too! Monday night I was busy worrying about Tuesday. Last night I was just too darn tired to care and slept well. Hope the rest of the week is better for you and less chaotic.
See you soon!!1 -
@Meghan509 Praying for your family! Glad you got some sleep and that work is calming down. I hope everyone gets to come and see you soon.
So, weird news. My biological dad died. Apparently earlier in the month. I just found out last night. I haven't seen him in 30 years. Not quite sure what to do with this information. He was an old stoner. Not a bad guy, just self centered. I'm not sad he's gone. I'm just sad that the tiny chance that he would decide to be a decent person and get to meet his grandkids is gone. Also, I am motivated to get my rear in gear. Heart disease caused by poor life choices on both sides of the family. Means that this chubby butt of mine is gonna kill me if I don't do something about it.2 -
Good morning,
@KateNkognito I am so sorry for your news. Thinking of you!!
I know what you mean that it would have been nice for your kids to meet him and all. Yes, heart disease is no joke. I see what poor life choices have done to my Step Dad. Years of smoking cigarettes and drinking sugary sodas and bad foods have brought on heart issues, a mild stroke, type two diabetes and for the last few years dealing with life in a wheel chair for most of the time. My Mom is slightly better borderline type two diabetes, a non smoker, but big joint issues due to osteo-arthritis. Sigh...
Hang in there Kate. Sending hugs.
My family on the west coast of Florida is safe and they do not have flooding. But both houses sustained damage. My Dad and Step Mom lost shingles and had damage to the solar panels. They cancelled their trip up here and I totally understand. They have no power and bad cell service and need to get their house repaired. My sister's house appears to have minimal damage. Trees and landscaping down, fences down and some plywood flew off the windows that they had boarded up. It is bad but it could have been worse. Going to know more as the day progresses. My thoughts go out to all of those impacted by or in the path of hurricane Ian.
Hope you guys have a good day. Positive vibes!! Speak soon.1 -
Almost Friday! Good day today.
Meghan, sorry the family can't come visit, but glad the came through relatively unscathed.
All of those in the storm path, praying for y'all!

Good morning!
Better believe I am happy it is FRIDAY! What a long, stressful week. Sigh.
Yes, the good thing is everybody is safe and healthy. I am worried about power being restored in a timely manner for my west coast FL family. The governor is saying the entire grid needs to be replaced in that area and it could take a very long time. All we can do is hope that they get all hands on deck and it is done sooner than later.
@KateNkognito hope you have a nice and easy Friday!
I am hoping for a relaxing weekend. We have no plans but that's okay by me. I just want low key.
Hope you have a nice weekend. See you soon!1 -
@Meghan509 I have a friend who's husband is a lineman and he is already on his way to Florida and not expecting to be home for at least a month. I hope your weekend is nice and peaceful.
I cannot express how happy I am that it is FRIDAY! I just need some peace and quiet. And a good sappy movie. Might take a long walk this weekend just to clear my head and talk to God.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend! Rest and recharge.2
