I guess I should not be surprised.......my knee surgery of any type has been denied by MediCare and they are only going to approve 5 PT visits then I have to pay for the rest myself. To say my Dr is pissed is an understatement. So we have created PT at home using my trainer and pre and post knee surgery exercises to keep me going. The reason MediCare gave was I have to much range of motion so I guess I am not crippled up enough. I guess being in great pain all the time is not enough. GRRRRRR!

Pretty bummed about me knee surgery so I went out and dyed my hair a deep, rich Sapphire Blue. Now I feel better!

@ANACONDA469 - OH MY....that is so messed up that they won't cover the surgery!!! It SHOULD be more about the pain than the range of motion! What good is it if you can bend it but it hurts so much that you can't walk?? I'm so sorry that's happening to you. Can you appeal their decision? Would a letter from the doctor make any difference?
Rode the bike 12.0 miles tonight. Happy Friday!!!

@anaconda469: That so stinks about your knee. I had a similar issue with my shoulder. No surgery till I did PT, but my insurance only covered so many visits and I would have to have more after so I went without. Glad you like the hair color.,we need to see a photo.

I've had an exhausting week. We were finally allowed to see what Hurricane Ian did to our house, which is both better and worse than I imagined. The good news is that the storm surge did not get up to the first floor and the house is habitable. The water was inches from the floor joists! The bad news is that the garage was in much worse shape than I had imagined. I wasn't prepared to see that the walls of the garage had collapsed, but they did exactly what they were designed to do - they let the storm water run through safely without harming the house. We were only allowed on the island for a day trip, but we were able to sort out the mess in the garage and discard all the things that couldn't be salvaged. We don't think we have a mold problem, so all in all we are feeling very fortunate. Once we have water and power again we can live in the house while we clean up the rest of the mess in the yard. I'm only at 7/50 but I think I will be able to get in some more miles now.
@anaconda469 - I am so sorry about the knee. I hope that once you get through whatever bureaucracy they throw at you, you will get the relief you need.3 -

Well Dave, its the Dr that sends in the disgnosis and the treatment (surgery). Then MC went over it for a month then denied the surgery. We can appeal and my Dr is already drawing up the documents for the appeal. She was notified and then she had to tell me, how messed up is that. In the meantime MediCare told me I could get my surgery but will have to pay 100% of the cost. So hopefully the appeal wont take to awfully long;1 -

@janet: I am so sorry to hear the news about your garage, but glad it did no damage your home or that the water stayed below your floor. It MySpace been shocking to see what Sanibel looks like. I hope they will be able to get some temporary bridge and roads built by Corp of Engineers so that you can access the island. Also that they restore electricity and power quickly.
