I'm hanging around the same weight and just hope I will not gain on our trip. . maybe all the walking will help. Fingers crossed.

Sarah, the forgotten medications sounds like something I would do, lol! I'm glad you had a good time at the reunion anyway though.

Kelly, I've also been thinking about you and your family and sending get well thoughts.

Katie, Sarah's right that your outlook seems lighter. People can drag us down with their negativity if we let them, so it's great that you're taking steps to free yourself from toxic influences. For me, it's important to also check in with how I'm "talking" to myself. Having supportive people around us starts with ourselves.

Lois, I'm looking forward to hearing of healing and progress with your injury. <3

I'm not sure whether I'll be able to post much on the trip, but I'm taking my laptop so hopefully I'll find time to at least check in.

    Well, the trip took its toll! :s And for some reason, for the past few days, I have had less energy than normal. I'm walking and going to my class, but I just seem to fall asleep every time I sit down. I was shocked to see that on the past two nights, I actually fell asleep for almost an hour before I went to bed. I was watching a ballgame last night, and poof--I'm gone. I hope this slump passes soon.

    Sorry I didn't make it online to post yesterday. My weight above is what I weighed yesterday and still weighed this morning.

    Yesterday, I spent a chunk of the day making homemade vegetable beef soup and blueberry crisp to take to a friend who had surgery last week. He's a younger guy and his mom came for 4 days, but now he's on his own. He was so excited when we texted him to say that dinner is being left outside your door. Because of the time in the kitchen, I did not get some other things done, so this will be quick. My goal is to be back down to 130.0 by next Wednesday. And here are my 7-day averages for last week:

    Steps = 12,217
    Stairs = 11 flights
    Kcals burned = 1,795

    Sheesh, I hope you have a wonderful trip. Lois, Kelly, and Katie, looking forward to hearing how your week went.
  • Happy Friday Y'all!!!! (I am not from the south but it sounded fun to say) :D

    I saw the number 174.8 this week!!!! I am super excited because that means I am moving in the right direction. This week I noticed that I do feel lighter as you say Sheesh. I am no longer being yelled at on a daily basis, I get to do what I want to do which means more time for the gym and myself. Being a mother is amazing but having time to take care of myself is important and I am realizing that if I ever look for a partner again that they need to be supportive of that. I have found time to read more and my house is amazingly cleaner without a man in it LOL- no offense to anyone. I also have made the goal this week to make sure I get at least 10k steps in daily. I have done accomplished that and more.

    Lois- I am hoping that your foot is healing and that you are getting closer to enjoying a life without pain.
    Sarah- I have had less energy too lately but I am wondering if it is the season change. Either way, you are still going strong and so caring of you to make that young man a meal. I love doing that for others.
    Sheesh- I am excited to hear about your trip and how wonderful the memories are that you are going to have.

    Everyone have a wonderful next week and take care of yourselves! <3

    Congratulations Katie on getting all those steps and other activity during past week. And big kudos on getting the scale to move downward! I have been meaning to ask you and always forget--where do you live? I always look at the cities for the other SNSers on the weather map in the Washington Post each morning. Makes me feel a little more connected.

    I'm happy to say that the chilly rain has moved out and it looks like we will have a warm and sunny fall day here in the Maryland suburbs. I am going to try to get in a little outside walking today if I can. Unfortunately, the woman I walk with in the mall is deathly afraid of dogs and will not do a neighborhood or park walk because there are always a number of dog walkers. She has no idea why she has this phobia as she can remember no unpleasant encounters. She is simply afraid of all animals more or less. I feel bad for her since we do have a lot of parks in this area that she is not able to enjoy.

    Before I forget, my free consultation with a nutritionist indicated that overall I'm doing okay, but there are two things I need to focus on and reduce to bring down that apoliopoprotein B level, which affects your VLDL. Thos are (1) fiber (it's way too low), and (2) saturated fat (too high, so watch for unhealthy red meats). So I have to add those to the sodium I need to watch to keep my BP from being a little too high. The nutritionist was happy that I log all my food into MFP so I can take a look at where at am and where I need to be.

    Kelly and Lois, hope all is okay with you. And have a great weekend everyone. :smile:

    We're taking off early tomorrow morning, so I'm packing and mad dashing around today, but I wanted to check in here before we go.

    Contratulatons Katie! And not just on your weight reduction, but your whole life improvement. I laughed out loud at your house being much cleaner without a man in it :D I hope you'll keep the changes going. As Sarah said, kudos!

    Sarah, I had my labs done Monday, and the next night they called me . . I was so nervous about cholesterol or blood sugar or A1C bad news, but it turned out to be low sodium levels. Huh? Yeah, apparently so low that they said I should go to the ER if I feel faint, dizzy, confused, cramps, or have a seizure. Wut?! Decrease water, increase salt. I'm so confused, lol. Well, I did that, and I feel fine. I chalked it up to being dehydrated and dieting, but who knows. . I was relieved that all else was in a good range. Next up is my mammogram in November, and then I'm all done with checkups. Saturated fat and getting enough fiber is hard. I figure a salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing and lean meat is the perfect dinner.

    Kelly and Lois, hope all is well with you. I get concerned when I don't see a post for a while. :#

    By the way, IF you want to see the video my daughter made for me for my 70th Birthday, she put it on her YouTube channel. You can see my weight go up and down over the years, lol. The time period when I had heart issues and surgery, etc. I'm so grateful for modern medicine, MFP, fitness devices over the years, and most of all, the support from you women. I need pictures of you all on there! (On YouTube search "Happy 70th Mom")
  • Sheesh- That was the best video ever!!! I loved watching you change and your children grow. I waiting forever for that one daughter to get married and have a baby. LOL I think that you look amazingly beautiful throughout the entire video. You are so blessed!!!

    Sarah- I am have Wisconsin.

    I'm alive! So so sorry I haven't posted since I was sick at the end of September. Both Shawn and I managed to make it through COVID relatively easy. We both had fevers, chills, exhaustion. I had a runny nose one day and a sore throat, while Shawn was completely stuffed up and coughing for a week. I was back to work after 1 week with no symptoms other than tiredness. Shawn still has a minor cough here and there. We're both still struggling to find out energy, but it's coming back slowly. Sarah - I know you mentioned how tired you've been lately and I have to agree with Katie that it's probably the seasons changing. Fall time always makes me tired. Our weather has been so wacky here lately. -14C (6.8F) the other morning with snow/sleet but yet tomorrow it's supposed to be 15C (59C) and sunny. So weird. But the full on snowstorms aren't far away. I pulled out all of our winter gear the other day to prepare.

    Other than walking, I really haven't been getting much exercise at all. And now that my energy levels are really starting to improve, I need to come up with a game plan for a routine. Hockey for both of our kids is back in full force, so after work doesn't work for more than a quick 20 min walk. Plus it's dark here by 7-7:30 these days. Guess I'll have to go back to the 430am wake up calls to workout. Yeeeshhh... not looking forward to that. I have been drinking more water than normal though, so there's something lol

    Sarah - The winter blahs and low energy is a huge thing for me. I pulled out my blue light and brought it to work this week, plus I started taking all of my vitamins and supplements again. Hopefully I can not have too many blah days this winter.

    Sheesh - I absolutely LOVED that video! HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY! I hope to look as amazing as you when I'm 70.

    Katie - So great that you made the best decision possible to make your life more positive. Of course it's difficult to be away from your kids, but making the most of it by giving yourself the time you need to focus on yourself and what you want, is amazing. Your last post seemed upbeat and positive and I can tell you're on a great path!

    Lois - I hope you're recovering quickly. Sending you healing thoughts!
