Sorry I'm late posting. The past 3 days have been super busy. I did weigh yesterday and planned to post, so my weight above is Wednesday's. I didn't even think to weigh today. I slept a little late and had to rush to get to my class. Then I went from class directly to walk because my walking buddy had a doctor's appointment during our regular walking time. Of course, I was very happy to see that weight, but I have a strong feeling that that is going to be hard to maintain. I don't know about you ladies, but I find I just want to eat more as the weather gets cold. Yesterday, it was very cool, and because of the wind, it felt downright cold. Today is a little milder. I am sad as I watch my huge containers of coleus that were so pretty during the summer turn into "Adam's Family plants!" :# Our tax accountant is coming Sunday afternoon and he said he was looking forward to sitting on our pretty patio. But honestly, after the frost the last couple of nights, it's not so pretty out there. :/

When I have a little more time, I'll tell you about my Saturday adventure trying to help out a neighbor who was targetted by a scammer. Honestly--there are some evil people out there. But I just looked at the time, and I think that story will have to wait.

Sheesh, I also loved the video. Vanessa did a wonderful job. You have such a lovely family and it looks like you have had a very blessed life. <3 Thanks for sharing it with us. And I can imagine that you were surprised by that low sodium level. It seems like we're always told to watch the salt! However, one of the women that I used to help in a volunteer capacity (gave her rides to doctor's appointments, the pharmacy, grocery store, etc.) had very low blood sodium. I remember taking a shopping list her doc gave her and trying to help her locate some foods with higher sodium levels that were still healthy. I remember tuna packs, but not much else.

Kelly, I was so glad to see your post. I'm relieved to hear that you and Shawn have recovered from Covid fairly quickly. And I also suffer from a lack of light and the darker days of winter do affect my mood and my energy. We'll have to remind each other to do what we can to moderate it and remember that it won't last forever.

Katie, it sounds like you're going in a good direction. Keep it up and try to include some active time every day, as that helps my mood, sleep, energy, etc., and keeps me motivated to achieve some goals. Start with small ones. :smile:

And mentioning goals, mine for next week is to still be below 130 and to take and log my blood pressure several times during the week. I'm forgetting to do that.

Here are my 7-day averages for last week:

Steps = 13,356
Kcals burned = 1,867
Stairs = 17 flights

Hmmm. Much better than I thought!

Lois, I think of you often and sure hope that your healing is coming along. Hope you can update us soon.

Now I do have to run! :smile:

    Happy Friday Ladies. Sorry to have been MIA. It has been a rough couple of weeks. The incisions aren't healing as they should so now I'm in wound care therapy. Leg had been treated with some meds and then wrapped tightly and only undone yesterday as the nurse was here to change the dressings. It appears the process is working and it's healing a bit better. Little things get ya. When the nurse re-wrapped my foot, we didn't pay attention to angle/positioning. It was not at 90 so it was super uncomfortable in my boot, and caused swelling overnight that woke me up in pain. Nurse is coming back out this afternoon to re-wrap and I will be sure to hold my foot at the 90 angle. UGH. Pain at incisions is still the major discomfort. Still on pain meds most of the day. I've stayed off of the board as I have been MAJOR Debbie Downer. The Gabapentin meds really messed with my head and outlook. Super anxious, frustrated and angry. It took almost two weeks to wean off. I told the doc no more anti depressant crud, I'd rather suffer with the pain. My poor hubby - he's had the brunt of my frustrations.

    Sheesh - I agree, Vanessa did an amazing job with your 70th birthday video. You look amazing in every picture. Such a great collection of memories and seeing you with the kids as little ones. The happiness and love certainly shows through! And sorry, didn't even notice any weight fluctuations, only love and happiness.

    Sarah - you sure are one busy lady for someone recently retired!!! I'm glad you're still walking with your buddy when you can!

    Kelly - so glad you and Shawn are doing well and getting through COVID so well. And, unlike you, we're still in the high 80's and 90's here. My landscaper hasn't even spread the winter rye seed yet, it's too warm for the seed to sprout. We usually cool down after Halloween, so we're looking forward to next week.

    Katie, your post and life changes sound so positive for you. Added you to my prayers for health and happiness as you navigate your new waters. You have such a great outlook I see success for you!

    I'll do better at posting. I went with my son to Flagstaff last weekend while hubby was out of town. His MIL house had four steps I had to overcome to get inside - and I did them - TWICE. He and I stayed at a hotel while Rhea and her mom stayed at the house. I attempted to sleep on a regular bed for the first time since coming home....so uncomfortable with the boot. I did not sleep well. Had a good time with Rhea's bday part up there, but was happy to come home to my recliner. Not quite ready for a full flat bed I guess. I have been up and walking one lap around the house 3/day with my crutches, so I'm able to put some weight on my foot/leg and easy walking.

    OK back to work

    Hello, and sorry to have been so MIA while traveling. I took my laptop, but never had a minute to open it! I'm so happy to be home and soooooo tired. We had a blast at Disneyland with everyone. I was feeling my age though, lol. I found I can only do non spinning and baby rides! My daughter-in-law and I were able to get 2 side by side pool cabanas reserved for the double birthday celebration of grandson (turned 7) and granddaughter (turned 1). It was so much fun, and DIL had gotten 2 small cakes delivered for the kiddos (of course with Mickey Mouse ears). That was the best day. It was crowded, and the use of the Disney app was a challenge, but with the help of our son we got it figured out. 3 nights and 2 full days there was enough for me, and when the kids all went home, hubby and I went on to Laguna Beach. I thought we would just relax, but ended up doing a lot of art museums, walking around town and along the beach. Our VRBO was within walking distance of everything. I got quite a lot of steps, but also quite a lot of eating out! Yikes, I haven't weighed yet.

    Sarah, congratulations on getting into the 120's!! And, your averages are so impressive. You're my inspiration now that I'm home until Thanksgiving. I'm sorry about the tiredness . . I can relate today for sure. Being in my own bed helped . . I slept over 10 hours last night! I've found that getting outside for a walk really helps with the blahs and tiredness. Maybe it's the vitamin D. Have you been watching baseball? I think about you every time I see Bryce Harper. I guess I'll root for the Phillies this year because I'm sick of the Astros, and hubby tells me they are known for cheating, ha ha!

    Kelly, I'm so happy to catch up with your posts, and that your family is recovered for the most part. I hope you can carve out time for yourself as the school year and hockey and cold weather approach. It's hard to do, but worth it for you and your family.

    Lois, my goodness, I'm sorry for the pain you're suffering. <3 I'm glad you got off some of the meds, but pain is hard to deal with. Keep getting up and moving as the doctors and therapists recommend. You're in my thoughts every day. This will pass . . hang in there.

    Katie, I hope you keep posting here and keep going in the positive direction you've chosen. Setbacks will happen, but getting back to it as fast as possible and never giving up is what works. I'm doing that today, too.

    Thank you all for the sweet comments on the birthday video. It was a complete surprise for me, and so emotional. Time goes by fast. I can assure you, there has been plenty of pain and suffering in my life that photos don't show, but I am very grateful for the wonderful life I've had so far.
