It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is three weeks away from tomorrow! It is my favorite holiday too. I am cooking this year and I am very excited. Last year we were traveling the day after the holiday so we had to keep it VERY low key and pretty much had zero traditional Thanksgiving fare. It was pretty sad for me. This year we invited over my common law in-laws and I am excited to be cooking for them and for us. And I like lots of veggies and potatoes and stuffing and I am making homemade gravy and a turkey breast since I like white meat poultry best.

Hope today is a good one for you. I am excited to have a hair cut and highlights appointment after work today. Been a while and my hair is feeling pretty flat and in need of a trim. I know, first world problems.
Working from home this week has been nice. Can you say, eggs for breakfast!! LOL

I had a terrible migraine the other day, but it was a great fast. And I am almost down to the next lower decade. I haven't been there in a while. Started my eating window a wee bit early today because there were bagels at the meeting. Totally worth it!
@Meghan509 Enjoy your cut and color! Not sure what we are doing for Thanksgiving this year. Probably just us. Maybe a friend, too.

Yes, very happy I got my hair cut and highlighted. It was feeling a little lifeless and flat. Phew. Feeling new again.
Not much planned here for the weekend which is fine by me. Supposed to be a beautiful 75 degrees F both days and sunny! Planning to spend a little time outside on the patio while we still can!

Hope everybody had a good weekend. Ours was nice and relaxing. We had nice weather on both Saturday and Sunday so we got to have some time outside enjoying it! Today is already sunny and 70 degrees F and it is not even 9:30am Eastern!
Everybody doing okay with the clock change?! Grumble grumble. LOL We are okay here. Was pretty tired last night but all good. Today I feel like I am getting there.

Is it a full moon? Because it feels like a full moon at school today.
Friday we have off, and I can't wait. This teacher needs to sleep in! Got my grades all caught up this evening.
This weekend was a busy one. I met my mom and dad halfway between our houses and we had lunch. I ran a bunch of errands. I got a few things done. And suddenly the weekend was over.
I LOVE the time change! I don't have to get up in the pitch black of night.
Weight is s l o w l y going down. At this rate, I will be to my goal in 5 years.
Off to bed. This old lady is tired.

Some days a student does or says something and you really want to say something to them, but you can't because you are the teacher and that would be wrong, but then another student says exactly what you were thinking and it is wonderful.
It is a lovely, cool, cloudy day. Going to have some tea and go to bed early. This time of year I just want to hibernate.

Busy but good day here. Traffic once again was not that bad! One more day of dealing with traffic and then I WFH on Friday and Monday. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it!
I got my new office cube all set up for the most part. Yesterday I had to deal with my local printer not connecting, my monitor not working, etc. etc. It happens when you move equipment around. All settled now.
@KateNkognito nice that you got to have a lunch with your family over the weekend!
That is so cool about your student saying the right thing! It has be hard these days where you want to say something but you can't and everybody is so lawsuit happy. Sigh. Congrats on the losses too!
I am still figuring out the best WOE for me. Been counting but not logging and need to focus on long term health. Lots of cancer in my family. With that being said, I have been leaning towards a more plant based focus. Not going to worry about macros, i.e., less carbs, etc. Just focus on eating 1500 calories and lots of good veggies and healthy carbs and fiber. I got this.

Supposed to have this darn hurricane come through this afternoon in to early tomorrow AM. Fingers crossed for now power or cable issues. At least Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be decent. We have friends coming up for a visit. Looking forward to that.

Happy Friday! Slept in. The dog is warming my feet. It is a good day.
I am going to switch up my fasting routine. 16:8 is just not working for me right now. Going to do a 36 hour starting this evening and then modified ADF after that. I am uncomfortable right now and I need to lose some weight. Also starting my bullet journal again. It really helps me. Working on some other stuff, too.

Monday is here but I am not full of dread and stress, which is good! LOL
Working remotely today, Wednesday, and Friday!! Less traffic for me!!
We had a little bit of wind and rain on Friday night in to Saturday AM and then we had a beautiful, sunny, 70 degree F day on Saturday once the storms left. No power or cable blinks or outages and I am grateful!
Friends of ours came down on Saturday and we went to a book fair a library in the next town over from us. We love to buy used books and to be able to give back to our local libraries! We had a nice time with them.
Looking forward to Thanksgiving and starting to plan our menu!

Fantastic weekend for me! Today was long though. Six more school days before Thanksgiving. Then 14 after that until winter break.
@Meghan509 Glad the weather passed you by unscathed! Enjoy your extra day of remote work! I was on our local library board for a long time. I fully support all things library and books!
I think it will just be the 4 of us for Thanksgiving this year. It will be nice and quiet.

Today was a good day. All of my classes were taking one kind of test or another, so it was pretty quiet all day. One bit of fun, we had to evacuate the building for a few minutes to make sure nothing was actually on fire. Fun times!
Eating wise... I got the hormone munchies. But I did a good job of not totally giving in and I am right back to fasting.

Rocking and rolling here. Busy but productive. Next week is a short week with Thursday and Friday holidays for us. I am taking the Monday after Thanksgiving as a vacation day. Looking forward to a little extra time off. Also going to be in on Tuesday only for next week. I am looking forward to that.
Going to hit my local Trader Joe's after work today to buy a few holiday meal related items. Trying to beat some of the weekend rush!

Less than one week until Thanksgiving!
Bought a few things on my way home last night, so feeling pretty good about getting everything on time and with a tiny bit less chaos! Still need to find a nice turkey breast! Surprised that our local Trader Joe's only had full turkeys.
Found a nice looking pasta fagioli soup that I am planning to make soon. I am going to add a pound of ground turkey, so mine won't be vegan but that's okay! LOL

I got a new phone and it took FOREVER to set it up, so I missed posting yesterday. I am on a weight loss roll! So far, down about 6 pounds since the beginning of August and four since I started ADF again. I have gotten into a nice routine and it is really showing.
@Meghan509 I took advantage of the early sales and I think I have everything except for the vegetables for our feast. I will get those and either make some French bread or buy some croissants. Enjoy your time off!

Well, Friday and Saturday not so good on the weight loss front. Especially Saturday. So on this fine Sunday morning, I am back on the fast train, chugging along with a 36 hour fast to undo some of the gain. I am also feeling swollen and bloated. Hopefully most of it is water weight. Good morning.
Weekend was good up until 3pm or so yesterday when a large tree branch came loose in the wind, fell down on to my SUV, cracking the windshield, damaging the roof and hood. I called my auto insurance company and reported it right away. Fingers crossed that this is resolved quickly. Sigh...
Currently sitting here working from home while I wait for a car rental company to get off their rear end.
Sigh...
Kind of feeling sorry for myself lately. I just can't catch a break if I tried. My Dad is in the hospital, yes he is feeling better, but it just never ends lately.
Just going to sign off for now as I don't really have anything positive to say.

Today is a little better. Dropped the SUV off last night at the auto body shop around the corner from our house. All I can do is hope that since it is a new vehicle, that the replacement parts are available and it is repaired quickly. The rental car company is also around the corner from our house and they (finally) picked me up. I have a car to drive so I am good there. My insurance adjuster submitted the report and drum roll..... $5,000 worth of damage! UGH. I am grateful that nobody was hurt. If the branch had fallen ten seconds earlier it could have hit one or both of us. I am also grateful to have and to be able to afford a nice vehicle and good auto insurance. I am responsible for my deductible of $500 and that is it. Since it is a "Comprehensive" claim vs. a "Collision" claim they said I won't have to worry about my premium going up as a result of the branch incident. Sigh...
Thanksgiving is almost here. I am grateful to be able to afford a nice meal and to enjoy it with my boyfriend and his family. I am grateful that when I last heard, my Dad was feeling better. He has pneumonia but they caught it early. Waiting to hear what the latest is via my sister. He also has another ongoing health issue relating to his esophagus cancer, so keep him in your thoughts if you don't mind. I am looking forward to seeing my Florida family at Christmas time.
Got to keep looking at the bright side, or else I will drive myself nuts.
I am working remotely tomorrow, so no traffic for me! Phew. Hoping you have a good day and I will pop in tomorrow.

I am also planning lots of rest and relaxation over the next five or six days. I don't foresee any Black Friday shopping in my future! Planning to lay low and stay home as much as possible. It is nice to have a rental car but it never feels quite right. We won't be taking any longer road trips or anything until the SUV is back from the auto body shop.
Our landlords (husband and wife) are coming by here on Monday morning to meet with a tree guy to see what they can trim so hopefully these branches will stop falling. The tree in our front yard is very much dead and this is the third time that branches have fallen. Third time is the charm I guess. Sigh.
I will pop in and out over the next few days. Hope you and your family have a nice holiday, Kate!!
