Not much, but I'll take it. A couple of leftover Halloween candy got me, lol. So far this week is going well, Monday and Tuesday workouts and deficits, and getting on a cardio workout this afternoon. Unfortunately, my sister was in the hospital a couple of days. . she went home yesterday but is going to need stomach surgery next Tuesday for a hiatal hernia. She's been dealing with it for years, and now really must do the surgery. It's depressing how bad her health had been for so long.
Sarah, your patio dinner sounds so nice. It's been nothing but rainy, a bit of snow here and there, and quite cold here. I hope you'll be able to enjoy some more time walking outside.
Well, I'm off to workout. Looking forward to everyone's posts.

As Sheesh said, not much but I'll take it. As I mentioned in my last post, entertaining and gifts of candy have really made it difficult to keep fat and sugar in line this week. In fact, both were above the red line 6 days out of 7 when I did a 7-day report in MFP. One day, fat was so high, it looked like I had been eating lard!
My 7-day averages for last week are reasonable, though:
Steps = 12,034
Stairs = 12 flights
Kcals burned = 1,769
Seeing these averages just reminds me that intake is key! My goal for next week is to reduce the amount of fat and added sugar in my diet and try to edge those kcals burned up a bit.
Sheesh, I'm sorry to hear about your sister. As you know, my sister has been in bad health for a long time, too. I just wish mine could have even a short time when she is not in serious pain. Hopefully the surgery will bring better times to your sis.
Now I need to run and get some things done. This has been a very busy week. I've had at least one appointment every day, and I have one tomorrow and Friday, too. Our unseasonable warm spell is ending and on Friday we're expecting 2-3 inches of rain, so I'm not looking forward to being out in that.
Kelly, Lois, and Katie, looking forward to hearing how you are all doing.

Copying you both and saying.. I'll take it.
I've been busting my butt. Really putting in effort with activity. I have kept up with my goal of getting over 10,000 steps each day since October 28. I wake up at 4:45am and walk on the treadmill in order to get that done on my work days. Last night I also popped in an old BeachBody DVD and did a 30 min kickboxing video. It's just my intake that I need to eventually start focusing on. I'm not eating horribly, but likely way too many carbs is my guess. With the price of food lately and the lettuce shortages/prices ($9.00 for 3 sections of romaine lettuce), it's getting harder and harder to eat healthy. I'm trying though!
Tonight we have a parent party for our daughter's hockey team, so drinks and appetizers will be had. Still gotta live!
Sheesh - So sorry to hear about your Sister. Hopefully the surgery goes well and helps her!
Sarah - great job on the steps and your numbers! Yikes, that's a lot of rain. We're supposed to get 10cms of snow today.. so there's that lol
Gotta run! Busy day at work today.0 -
A quiet week on the board . . Everyone getting busy for the holidays? I hope you're all doing well.
We had our grand baby last night while mommy and daddy took older sis to the theater. I think we had more fun than they did, lol. But, I had a less than optimal day of intake and movement. Hubby and I have been getting after Christmas because we'll be gone over Thanksgiving, so I've been distracted from my goals. But, today I'm getting a workout done!

Hello ladies. Super quick check in. All is going the same. Wounds have a topical covering. Ortho wants me in a compression sock where dressing needs to be changed 3/day. Wound doc wants it in an Unaboot and left alone for one week at a time (ortho doesn't like because it limits mobility). So they're not agreeing and I'm the red headed step child in the middle of a divorce. We're progressing with the ortho's order of compression sock and changing the dressings. But that also means I can begin PT. Two sessions in, and I'm exhausted after being done. So much muscle loss. Simple leg raises are exhausting. Also, just scheduled consultation for the sleep study. Hopefully that will go well.
Congrats ladies on your reductions and .6 reduction in a week is awesome for you ladies! You can't expect huge swings in a week. Sheesh, Sarah and Kelly - your commitment to movement is motivating!!! I've been walking around the house using my crutch more than my scooter. I'm exhausted at the end of the day and I'm unsure how my Garmin is tracking it, but I'm going around and around quite a few times several times a day.
I was a bad girl and pulled out all of the 100,000 bars and put them in a baggie in the cupboard. I have one or two every few days. There are still quite a few in there, so I'm attempting to pace myself. We had the TKD picnic this past Saturday and I really did not go overboard, so I'm super happy about that. While not all of my choices are great, I am finding that I am eating smaller portions of everything with each sitting. Just not as hungry. That may change as I become more active with PT. My son in law is visiting from Okinawa, well he stayed here a few days and is now at his parents. He will be back next Wed to stay the night and then we'll head to his sister's house for Thanksgiving. He leaves that Sunday, so we'll leave him with them. Today our handyman arrived and assembled my new table and chairs as well as put up the icicle lights at the top of our two-story home and our neighbor's single story home. I'm excited and hoping to find the holiday spirit and soon.0
