Thank you @Lovemyalex and @Leanz for your kind words! Our new Grandson's older brother is 6 years old and to think he was that small once is mind-boggling!!

The friend who originally got me started running marathons has been on a quest to run a marathon in all 50 of the US states. Today she ran the Honolulu marathon to complete all 50. I came to Hawaii with her to help celebrate. We originally planned this trip in 2020 but it got cancelled twice due to COVID. This year it finally happened, but what with everything that is going on with my house and my life, and my bout with COVID last month, I didn't have time to train for the marathon myself. So what did I do? I walked it of course. I can't say it was fun but I did finish eventually. So that makes 18 marathons for me. We're off to a luau tonight to celebrate her accomplishment. I've never been to Hawaii before and I'm really enjoying it.3 -

@JANET - What great accomplishments for both you and your friend! You've done 18 more marathons than I have! Enjoy the rest of your time in Hawaii!!!
So I'm a little behind this month, but I'm ready to step it up now. Getting stronger every day.

I've been struggling since Sunday. I have a huge blister on my foot from walking the Honolulu marathon, which has been slowing me down. Today I taped it up and managed to put on a pair of hiking sandals and do some hiking in beautiful Volcanoes National Park. Hoping I can do more tomorrow. I'm at 39/50.0

When I logged in today MFP notified me that my streak is now 4000 days. That really sneaked up on me, but what a fun surprise! I'm continuing to limp around Hawaii and somehow the blister hasn't popped so that's good. We had a beautiful walk on the cliffs today putting me at 45/50.3

@Janet: Congratulation's on 18 marathons and to your friend for a great accomplishment. I had a friend here in Pittsburgh that completed his 50 last year. He had to go back to complete it because of Covid. As Dave said you have run and walked 18 more than me. I could never get past 16 miles without struggling with knee pain. But how wonderful of you to go see her finish her feat.
Blisters are such. Pain. I always found blister bandaids to help if not too huge. Congrats on 4000!!
Sorry I have been off the grid. I have been so busy getting ready for a new puppy coming next week. Yikes!
