Today's Topic: Cold Weather vs Hot Weather.
This past weekend was brutally cold with winterstorms for around 200 million people. This gave me pause to wonder if you have different eating habits during extreme heat waves or extreme cold waves.

Not so much eating (although I'm not big on salads in colder weather), but I find I'm not big on walking outside in cold weather. I can get my steps in the house, but it is not conducive to a lot of steps.

I don’t think I do have a difference. I largely live in a temperature-controlled, humidity-controlled environment, between home and cars. I probably eat a little differently in summer when fruit and veggies are fresher and more plentiful, but it’s a function of availability rather than temperature. I guess I’m less likely to grill when it’s over 90° outside, or under 45°, but that’s the extent of it.

(And I’m not one to eat outside; no desire to share my food with flies and insects, so that doesn’t change with temperature either.)

Like wise Al for me on the salads. I'm obviously not doing well on the steps either.
I do tend to eat soups on cold days but I'm trimming the carbs for a couple of weeks. I really have good luck with that until the weight levels off. At that point I'd better pay big attention because it comes back on with a vengeance even faster.

Hot Weather seems to take away my appetite sometimes but when the day cools down I seem to make up for it. Not a good thing.

This past weekend however I craved hot chocolate and broke down and got some at one of the big gas stations like Racetrak. If I drink it at home it's always Swiss Miss no sugar. For some reason I'm not not sure why I ate our Christmas dinner Turkey stove top dressing cranberry sauce giblets gravy but it just didn't taste as good. I believe I knew I should be eating the portions I ate nor the sides. I don't know just didn't work for me this year.
In fact DW said if you if I didn't mind she'd like to go out next year and not cook. I agreed and that's how we've survived 32 years and counting.

    Or when it’s warm, or when it’s cool . . . .

Well that seems to cover it pretty well. Some eat when it's cold others eat when it's hot. Some eat when it's hot or cold and some eat inside but not outside. Let's see I pretty much eat too much in the hot or cold. Yep! that covers it lol! 🤣🤣🤣
