Tea during fasting window?

I do 16:8 IF. I know you can do tea and coffee during the fasting window as long as it has nothing in it (milk or sugar). But I like to drink loose leaf white tea that has other ingredients in it like herbs, flowers or dried fruit. I get it from a local tea shop. I am concerned that the dried fruit (very small amounts) may impart some residual sugar or otherwise screw up my fasting. Anyone know if this kind of tea is ok? I’m not eating the fruit just steeping tea for 3-5 minutes. Any advice appreciated.

I don't know for sure whether it would knock you out of your fast... probably not. If having that cup keeps you going and you're getting good results, go for it. I usually have a coffee in the morning with some heavy cream, which I know technically breaks the fast, but for me, it keeps me going strong until my first meal sometime between 1:00 and 2:00. None of us are on MFP because we drank too many cups of tea, right? At some point we have to make the plan work for us to be sustainable long term.
If you find after a few weeks that you're not getting the results you want, maybe then look for another blend of tea that omits the dried fruit.1 -
Those teas are not OK. The sugar will effectively break your fast by causing a spike in your glucose regardless of how small it is it is enough to do the trick. The only thing I could think of that might contradict what I said was if you had reliable nutritional data that showed carbs or sugar content. It’s better to be safe than sorry I have found with IF I would rather not do ANYTHING that could break my fast because I’d be straight shortchanging myself and I’m here to get this weight off and revolutionize myself.0
