I'm back to substituting--hot tea at night instead of snacks/alcohol. I made it one day so far! I'm calling that a win. Now if I can just keep it up for a while...0

One day, and one day, and one day . . . . is the start of a streak! 👍
That’s how I stopped grabbing a handful of cashews each time I walked by the large open-mouth jar.0 -
I have eaten most of my meals at restaurants throughout my life, and that is something that is not going to completely disappear. But I need to eat less while doing so. I've taken the past couple of weeks to assess what will be necessary to achieve this. (I moved to a new location a couple years ago, and now I have a good handle on what my new patterns are. The good news is that I already do more cooking than I used to. The bad news is that I snack more.)
First, I made a list of my favorite places, and figured out how many times I "need" to eat there in a month. Distributed these over a calendar -- lo and behold I appear to have carved out one extra day per week for eating at home. So I am aiming to eat 5 lunches or dinners out per week.
Second, I calculated out which typical meals were no longer workable -- as in I must take half of the serving home, there is no way to stick to a calorie/points budget if I eat all this. Also found the ones where I could eat the meal, but then dinner would have to be nothing but vegetables. A form of pre-tracking I guess.
I'll see what effect this has at the end of the month, then figure out what adjustments are needed.2 -
I’ve reworked all the numbers and I’m actually adding a few calories at breakfast and dinner in the hope that it helps avoid snacking.0

I like the fact that you’re giving this a month, Will. Too many people give something a few days or a week, and make changes. Unfortunately, it just takes time to get some certainty abaout which X is causing result Y.0
