I'm up 2.4 pounds. Ugh, but I deserve it. My weight reflects the results of a significantly less-than-perfect week. Too much snacking, too many evening drinks, too little focus, too many excuses.

Someone once commented “a pint's a pound the world around”, meaning a pint weighs a pound. I think there’s a parallel here - “an excuse weighs a pound the whole world 'round”. More excuses, more weight . . . . 😉

    Speaking of more weight . . . .

I’m up 2# from last week, with a clear understanding and willing acceptance of how that happened. First, last week's official Thursday night weigh-in was inexplicably low with a 2# loss when it should have been 0.5-1# - so I expected to pay for that this week. Second, in advance of this Thursday's weigh-in I had Mexican Tuesday evening and ate out Wednesday evening as well. (Chocolate Dream Cake was involved in the latter, and I’ll just say worth the fifteen points for my half slice.)

I chose to eat Mexican Tuesday, and followed my usual “Mexican discipline”t hat left me in the healthy eating range for the day - no regrets. Wednesday was my wife’s call to eat it, so I went - and founds she had a birthday coupon that included chocolate cake for dessert. I could have not had any of the cake, potentially making me look like a “superior sumbitch”, but I elected not to go that route in the interests of domestic bliss. I also knew the cake would be delicious, and it was.

So I have no regrets about the fact that I was up or how I got there. I made good choices for the situation, they had a cost, I’ve paid and moved on. That's what maintenance is about, right? And this morning, I was down about 1.4# from yesterday morning

(Coincidence that I had two excuses and a two pound gain? I think not. 😊)

Down 5.2 over the 2 weeks. (no weigh-in last week as I was still Covid bound). Still 5 over my immediate goal, and 10 more below that for "permanent" goal.

So is Covid a reasonable weight loss strategy, Al? 😉

    Guessing no . . .

Up 6 lbs this week. Really eating stupidly wrong choices, Chinese, Hamburgers, Onion rings, Cookies, very poor portion control if any and on top of that bad edema in both legs since my cardioversion on November 29 which didn't get my best back into rhythm as far as I can tell. They said it did when I left hospital but my home BP data drill had irregular heart beats off and on.

Going to Cardiologist today @ 3pm. We'll see what they say.
