So that's what happens when you hardly move at all for two days and move much less than usual for the other five days. I know, however, that I should not complain since so many people get dreadfully sick with this darned virus.
Monday, I felt about 75-80% normal, and I think I overdid it because I did not feel quite so good yesterday. So, I slowed down and spent the bulk of the day reading. It's really hard to me to just sit still, but I want to make sure I don't have a relapse. Thus far, hubby is testing negative. Makes me wonder if the two non-Covid colds he has had gave him some type of immunity.
I hate to even post these 7-day averages, but here goes:
Steps = 6,672
Kcals burned = 1,511
Stairs = 9 floors
My goal for next week is to get well and get back to moving.
As I mentioned, the mall is closing March 31st and my most recent walking buddy sent me a text saying that she has joined a gym and asked if I'd like a guest pass to see what I think of it. But until the weather opens up and Covid and flu rates go down, I think I am going to stay out of gyms. However, I do need to think about how I'll get activity once I cannot count on that large indoor space. Two women who attend my Body Builders class told me that they are also attending classes offered at a fairly low-cost by our community association, and they encouraged me to check into them. I think one is cardio-focused and one is Tai Chi or yoga. New sessions should start April 1.
In other news, the wheels are falling off again! That's how hubby and I describe those cycles when we get hit with several unexpected costly repairs. Last year, we had to replace the garage door, the hot water heater, have repairs to both the frig and range, and pay more than half of my implant costs--all in within 6 weeks. Now, we have some plumbing issues to address the same month as hubby gets a new crown and I pay for the actual implant tooth, and to top it off, our homeowners and car insurance is due. And trust me, DC area insurance rates are incredibly high. And all this right after holiday expenses. So I'm trying to stay grateful about this, too. We can pay these expenses, but gosh darn, I do hope that once this cycle is over, we get a rest from expenses and sickness.
Finally, thank you everyone for all your get well wishes and for, through time, showing me how we can all just keep putting one foot in front of the other as we try to be as fit and healthy as we can.

Lol. It looks like .2 pounds is all I can muster in a week.
Sarah, I'm so sorry you got Covid, but it sounds like you had a mild case. Thank goodness for the vaccines, especially at our age. I've still managed to avoid it, even though almost everyone I know has had it. We still wear masks on planes and in certain indoor spaces, but not all. I've heard that China is experiencing another mutation strain, so we'll be careful because I guess the bivalent shot doesn't cover the new strains coming out. I think you're doing so well considering the holidays, Covid, winter, etc.
I'll be back later. . gottta run to a playdate.

Sorry about the short post yesterday. Wednesdays have turned into the busiest day of my week, and today I have my trainer in a bit.
Lois, as Sarah said, I'm happy to hear the progress and hope in your "post voice". I know the PT can be so painful and taxing, but I know you'll push through and start to see increasing progress. I was trying to remember when it was that you got that injury? It's taking a while to heal, but you'll get there. . I know you'll keep pushing yourself.
Kelly, I took up your increased water intake, and I've noticed I feel better. I think I don't get thirsty, so I decided to drink 16 ounces before 9 am, 16 ounces before noon, 16 oz by 3 pm, and 16 oz by 6 pm. I have to get it in before evening or else I'm getting up all night, lol. I think you drink a lot more than that, but I don't think my 'old lady bladder' can handle more
Sarah, I hope you're feeling better. I know you'll be trying to get your activity back to normal, but don't push it too hard until you're completely over it. Covid is a tricky virus. I'm sure you'll find a way to replace your mall for activity. A gym would be fun. The Tai Chi and Yoga are a lot more challenging than they look! Go for it as soon as you feel better.

Great job ladies checking and getting moving.
You two are right - I'm feeling better with PT starting and getting moving again. I was able to get three sessions this week and next. Only two the following week due to dr. appts., but I'm pushing to make progress. I've emailed my trainer so that he is ready for me - targeting March. Rhea will be starting Pre-K next July and there are a couple of weeks where she will be on break, but her mom's university vacation is not aligning, so we are all working to to take turns with her. Currently Papa nor I are able to get on the ground with her, so that is a goal for both of us...get our injuries healed and get moving again. Also, my daughter left six training sessions behind so I'm coordinating with Kelsie, my 10 year old granddaughter to get her over to the lessons. Grandma has to be able to move around the horses to help with grooming and tacking. So I have motivation to get moving again.
Also, we're still putting Christmas away. We are down to one village, the tree itself (all ornaments have been removed)
Sarah - I agree with Sheesh. Tai Chi and Yoga are more challenging than you think. Pilates also. I like the smaller gyms or boutiques for training.
Sheesh loving your time with the grandchildren and your trainer. I'm getting back there.
I think I shared that my sister had covid, that became pneumonia. She was in the ER last night, unsure what was going on, they sent her home after 1am so I'll find out more tonight when I chat with her.
For this week's meal plan I did order Factor meals, with extra proteins (chicken for hubby, steak for me). What I failed to do was to set up the grocery order for the extra salad stuff. UGH. So I just did that for next week. I paid the monthly fee and now delivery of groceries is free for next day delivery. Just gotta tip the shopper. SO WORTH IT! Next week we will be better. Each week there shall be some improvement.

Again, not surprising. While I continue to hit all of my goals, steps and drinking my minimum 68oz of water a day, I'm not focused on what I'm eating. I've noticed I have been eating way more than I need to but have been overly hungry lately. Likely just a monthly female thing, so I'm hoping it passes.
Weather has been unseasonably warm here for the month. Normally in January our temps are crazy cold, but it's the opposite and it's so sloppy out. There seems to be no happy medium.
We have a somewhat of a more quieter weekend with Tyler & Shawn having hockey games tonight, Tyler with a practice tomorrow and Sunday Ella has a game. It'll be nice just to be chill mostly tomorrow. I might go visit my parents for coffee.
I hope everyone else has a great weekend!0 -
Kelly - YAY for a quieter weekend. Coffee with the folks sounds amazing.0

Busy weekend. Got my hair done - so a 3 hour tour on Saturday. Followed that with going to dinner with my hairdresser (did not order in and eat while processing the foils), we actually went to the restaurant and had a great time. Had Chinese as usual. I did well with eating over the weekend. I ordered the bag of salad mix and then had cucumber, cheese, sugar snap peas and carrots that I chopped up. I've been using the delicious flavored balsamic vinegars that I bought at the Queen Creek Olive Mill...so pomegranate with vanilla bean olive oil. A little dab will do ya. Today I added some hard boiled eggs and ham with a mini bagel. So so yummy. Thinking of ordering the pad thai for dinner tonight. We have the Factor meals coming tomorrow. Hoping we can keep our eating under control. Therapy tomorrow, Thursday and Friday. Eeek.0

Girls..... what as few weeks it has been. We had this horrific stomach bug go around our house. I was out of work for an entire week almost and lost 6 lbs in a week. Everyday I thought about you all though when my phone reminds me to log food at 10am LOL.
Needless to say, we are all healthy again and I am back to the gym. I kept off those lbs and am still eating the same as before I was sick. Trying to stay away from sugar. It is so freaking hard though, let me tell you.
Starting weight 178
Current weight 173.8
I am going to read up on everyone and then comment!0
