Well here's what happens when you eat something that is full of salt! We had little time to get dinner last night and so for protein, we used a ham steak. It was so salty tasting, we had to put dijon mustard on it to tolerate it. And because of the time factor, we also had frozen cheddar baked potatoes. So I was not surprised this morning when I logged my evening food to find that my sodium was 3,500 mg over my allotted daily amount. Thankfully, we also had fresh broccoli and a fruit salad, which were low in sodium and a lot better for us. But I've learned my lesson about that brand of ham steak. Two days ago, I weighed 130.8, so I hope once all this salt is out of my system, I'll go back to that range. But I promised you all and myself that no matter what, I'd log whatever the scale says on Wednesday. So that's it. :(

On a happier note, I am finally testing negative and feeling a lot better. My 7-day averages are not what they used to be, but it's an improvement over last week.

Steps = 8,995
Kcals burned = 1,660
Stairs = 10 floors

Katie, I was happy to log in late yesterday and see your post, although I'm sorry that you and your family members have had one of those terrible stomach bugs. A stomach bug is the only thing that has ever put me in the hospital and I fear them more than anything--including covid. When I get dehydrated my blood pressure bottoms out. Although it was 20 years ago, and I was younger and stronger, I ended up in step-down ICU for 3 days. I will never forget waking up and seeing my family doctor sitting in the chair in her ski clothes eating my meal. She said when she arrived back from her vacation, she called the hospital to find out if she had any patients there since she was an ob-gyn as well as a family practioner. When they told her I was there, she was so suprised, she came to the hospital without even changing clothes. Loved that doc, but she has now retired and moved to New Hamshire where she can ski to her hearts content.

Sheesh and Lois, hope all is well with you. Looking forward to hearing how everyone's week went. Katie keep that positive attitude!

I felt sure I had a reduction because I worked out a lot (am currently doing a "butt challenge" my trainer gave me) and was really good with intake, but we went to a movie yesterday, and the popcorn did me in. Hopefully I'll see that drop off soon. I can't resist popcorn at the movies. I need to buy some of the snack packs of Skinny Pop to hide in my purse when we go, lol.

Sarah, I'm happy you're feeling better after your Covid bout. Ugh. Your numbers still look good to me, especially since you've been ill. You're in good condition, so I'm sure you'll be 100% very fast.

Lois, it's clear that you're getting back to yourself, and I know you'll be adding more activity as you can. Not having the full use of our feet and legs is so impactful to everything! I found that out with a broken foot. I'm more mindful of taking care of my feet and legs now, warming up and stretching well.

Kelly, I hope you and your family are all well now. I looked at your weather today because it's been cold here, but you are super cold! All I can do is treadmill, trainer, and Apple workouts. I won't walk outside in the cold, dry air . . it's too hard on my lungs. Hopefully you've got indoor options.

Katie, it's good to see you back here! I'm so sorry about the illness. Stomach bugs are the worst. Like Sarah said, be careful with staying hydrated as you add activity. Hope things are good in your life.

I'm off for a quick workout.

    TW - 235.0

Well I finally made it upstairs for a morning shower (downstairs shower is backing up something fierce and no longer usable without the water taking 7 hours to drain). So, this is my naked and afraid weight today. Like you Sarah, I was 233.2 yesterday. Ordered a spinach wrap yesterday and yes, I could taste/feel the sodium. Anyhow, that's my Wednesday weight. I attended an all employee company meeting today. I think it has been over a couple of years since I've attended one. Since Covid most have been virtual and I've been injured or had some issues since they've gone back to in person meetings. I forgot how horrible traffic is when you're trying to be somewhere at 8am...made it at 830. ah well.

PT is kicking my butt. I feel good when I'm there, but I'm telling you I truly do feel it later in the day. My foot is a hurting. I only take tylenol and ibuprofen during the day and Tramadol at 8pm. Well, on PT days, I'm starting Tramadol at 5 or 6, along with an ice pack. They've begun the increasing of exercises, either duration, repetitions or weight (or all three). I am going 3/week Tues/Thur/Fri.

However, today, when I went to the meeting, because i had to bring my backpack with my laptop and some phones etc, I did take my scooter. My backpack is heavy - just the pack!! It's one I got with the company logo on it and it has cool pockets for stuff, but by itself it's a bit heavy.

Well, my daughter sent a text that we are just over 300 days to walking several miles a day for four days and Disneyland. So PT will be prepping me.

Oh and I got the call that I can pick up my cpap tomorrow afternoon! I'm so excited!

Sheesh - you did have a reduction or am I reading it wrong??

Congratulations Kelly on an excellent reduction!!

    Lois, my weight was a typo as I DID NOT have a reduction. I was at 134.2 . . . wishing I was at 132.2 :D

I was just looking through my Apple Watch workouts, and I've had a great week, closing all rings since Saturday. Today will make it 7 in a row, so I'm going to do it, but my legs and butt are telling me "no". I've been doing this darn challenge my trainer gave me, with squats, bridges, and lunges every day, gradually increasing to an ungodly number at 30 days. Every day that I complete them I'm kind of amazed I was able to. I guess it's well designed too because I feel much stronger. Well, I'm off to try to get those done, close my rings, have one playdate, and get some more laundry / housework done before the weekend.

    Have a great weekend.

    Happy Friday everyone!

Sheesh - so sorry. But your challenge does sound fun. I miss those days.

Well today I had my 3rd PT of the week. Whew! He ended with me pretending to "fall" towards my bad leg and then forward, transferring as much of my weight to the left as possible with each repetition. To show I was off my good leg, I began shaking it...almost like Brad Pitt in the movie with Angelina Jolie Mr. and Mrs. Smith , where he shakes his leg when done using the restroom. One of the therapists was cracking up every time I did it. But it did show I had transferred my weight. haha. Anyway. I do feel like it's getting stronger and more stable and flexible. Walking with "less of a gimp". Still a gimp and very gimpy at the end of a day or long walk, but it's improving. Next week is only 2 sessions as I see the ortho on Thursday for a follow up.

Food intake is a bit better. We're having the salads for lunch and Factor meals for dinner. Not eating as much of the sweets as before. Hoping to change some of my weight allocation to more muscle and less fat.

My friend came over to help with housekeeping yesterday. Well, she was able to angle the plunger just right and 3 good pushes, the tub was clear! So now I'm able to continue to shower downstairs. I know going upstairs is good for my legs, but after going up, and then standing in the shower, it was a little scary the other day. I was super tired when I got downstairs.

May have a Rhea visit tomorrow, so we're hoping. May have pedi on Sunday...considering it, but also concerned as my leg is so sensitive, I'm unsure I'll enjoy any part of the massaging that's included.

Hi, all. Happy Saturday, and WOW Kelly. That was a great reduction for one week. So hard to do. And a belated happy 4th anniversary. I have it on my calendar and said happy anniversary to you on Thursday, but I bet you didn't hear me! LOL

I'm still stuck at 132. This is the result, I'm sure, of reducing my steps after I lost my walking buddy, Christmas, and then Covid. Mentioning my last walking buddy, we continue to check in with each other by text, but I don't expect that we'll be able to walk together much before the mall closes on March 31. Mentioning the mall, I've only been back once since I tested negative. It's just too gloomy now. On that visit, I did get a chance to spend a few moments with two other walkers I have seen there regularly for several years. We exchanged phone numbers and plan to do an outside walk once the weather allows. For now, almost all my steps are from the TM.

Mentioning weather, I am envious of your snow, Sheesh. We used to get three or four good snows each year here, but with global warming, we are seeing less and less. Last year, we only got a dusting a couple of times, and so far this year, we've only seen a few flakes that melted as they hit the ground. I think hubby is about ready to sell that monster snowblower that he bought and has never used. (The one with headlights and power steering! LOL) He says if he sells it, we'll surely get lots of snow the next year.

I know that I also need to focus more on my intake. I think over time, I've just relaxed a bit and I'm eating more and not being as careful with weighing my food. I've stopped putting into practice one thing that has helped me, which is to stop eating a little before I'm full and wait 20 minutes for my stomach and brain to talk to each other. I also want to add just a few minutes a day of more intensive movement. Sheesh, I love the idea of what your workout will do to your legs and behind, but I don't think my knees will allow lunges or squats. That said, there are some things I can do to augment my two classes. Someone be sure to ask me in a few weeks if I'm doing any of those!

Well, hubby is now ready for us to go out and run some errands and pick up more test kits to have onhand. The good news is that we both tested this morning and we're both negative. So I think he dodged the bullet and although I still don't have my normal energy, I'm getting there. Lois, sounds you're making good progress, too.

    Have a great weekend, everyone.

Kelly - WOW!! I somehow did not see your post. CONGRATS!! Keep it going.

Sarah - Stay focused and do what you can. I'm happy you're reaching out to other walkers to open other walking arenas. Soon the weather will be grand to be outside somewhere.

Sheesh - I love your focus and bouncing back.

Therapy did wipe me out last week. I also got my cpap machine. The first night was great because I'd slept absolutely horrible the night before was exhausted was not an adequate description. Threw on the mask and slept. The next night was so so...and Saturday night was again horrible. I kept waking up feeling like I was being suffocated. I could not breathe. I didn't give up on the machine (tho I probably should have). So I read the manual on Sunday and adjusted the temperature of the humidifier and in the middle of the night reduced the flow of the humidifier by half. The temp was at 80 and I reduced it to 74 and set at 8, reduced to 4. Whatever that meant. So I lowered the temp AND reduced the amount and I slept so much better then 2nd half of last night. Hoping tonight I can get a full night of great sleep. Still on the recliner, but hopefully making progress somewhere.

Hubby and I finished packing up the Christmas decor. Tree is down and everything in the proper box. Garage boxes are back in place and the storage stuff is lined up ready to go in a few months when we're up to doing it.

So, I think I shared that we will be at Disneyland for Thanksgiving. Failed to click that this is the 100 year anniversary for Walt Disney. So of course I had to order PURPLE sweatshirts for us girls to wear and some other chachki's. I also needed some long sleeve tshirts just to wear around the house since it's a bit chilly for us - and they're Disney oriented. I'm done adulting, lets go to Disney... I have that in two and Need My Coffee are my others. I did buy a couple without writing, I know boring, but they will be more professional for my occasional zoom meetings....They're due tomorrow. And we'll be back in the 80's next week. Haha. Just saying that since I've bought six long sleeve shirts, and I'm not one to wear long sleeves.

I have therapy two times this week, so I need to be sure to get my stretching in, I do well with walking and strength stuff, but having challenges getting in the flexing/stretching stuff.

Ok...time for my meeting. Have a great week everyone. Check back on Wednesday.
