Today's Topic: Food prep
Focusing on the evening meal, who prepares that in your house? Is food prep a “get ready for the week” event, or does it happen when you’re ready for dinner?
(This is the third time I’ve posted this - once yesterday, and once earlier this morning.)

Evening meal is usually me. I plan, but prep just before cooking.

My wife prepares dinner. Sometimes she'll make a bunch of chicken, and then dole it out over the week (some for dinners, some for lunches). At other times she'll make things when needed. A lot of it has to do with how meals and prep figures into our weekly schedule.0

Even though we’re both retired, we still pre cook nearly everything. Only difference is cooking day can be any day, not just a weekend. At dinner time prep is mostly in the micro wave. Sometimes the toaster over. Got an air fryer to try out after the new kitchen is in.0

I tend to be the one who does the evening meal. When all is going well, that means doing a crockpot meal on the weekend, and having pre-portioned meals either from the fridge or the freezer. That’s the extent of meal prep. I don’t have snacks premade and all that jazz.0

I do the cooking. My food prep is for the week, so that I have prepared lunches and something to eat in the evening. I tend to prep components for meals. This allows me to mix and match to get some variety.0

I do the cooking, Its actually interesting to me how many guys are the main chef at home. I do not have a strict plan of any kind about what to cook and when to cook it, mainly chicken and seafood, with a mix of stews chilli's grilled proteins not the same thing every week.0
