I'm just carrying way too much weight and seriously impacts physical activities and probably sleep. So, googled around and talked to some, and figure a Keto style plan would be good for me to try.

I've already started cutting down on sugars but that's quite hard. Finally gave-up all breakfast cereals and granola bars. I do all the cooking and cleaning, so I try to have balance plates 25% protein, 25% carb, 50% veg but don't always succeed.

Hey Newbie! Welcome! I’m new to the group but have been doing Keto on and off for a couple years now.

You will love Keto. Weight comes off SO EASY and it also helps mentally. I’ve never met anyone on keto who doesn’t feel mentally happier, better.

Take it one step at a time and do a little research on Keto. On Youtube, look up Thomas DeLauer, and I like Dr. Sten Ekberg not to be confused with Dr. Berg who covers keto as well. Dr. Berg had some ‘controversy’ about being in Scientology but if that doesn’t bother you, he does have many, many good videos. There are so many more and book to read and documentaries to see. You’ll have fun learning as you feel better and better. Here are some really good resources but there are a ton more:

There is no one person or program for Keto. So as you learn, remember that Keto is simple. It really is just staying low on carbs. Don’t fall for people selling you this and that, especially keto bars and such. Eat healthy, REAL FOOD. Stay away from anything that you get hooked on. If you eat even a tiny bit of sugar, you may (or may not) get triggered to go off the plan. If that happens, that’s OK. Have a protocol for the next day to get yourself back on track (i.e. throw out bad foods before you go to bed).

You will do fine! Go easy on yourself and remember that Keto is simple.

    Good luck! =)
