What's On Your Mind Today?

This is where you can share what's on your mind. Recipes, ideas, workouts, anything that you think might be helpful to others.
Maybe, you've tried something that has worked for you in the past and would like to share it with the group. Maybe, you have a NSV (Non Scale Victory) that you would like to share with the group. Anything that you feel comfortable sharing or anything that you feel comfortable asking the group for help....this is the place to come.
The GOOD!! What NSV did you have this week!!
The BAD!! So what....you ate the whole thing!!
The UGLY!! That darn scale went through the window this week....it deserved it too!!
So, what's on your mind today??

Has anyone else been seeing a lot of slowness in accessing posts in the communities area of MFP? Just started for me on Sunday. Tried a couple of different browsers and seeing the same.1

YES!!0
-
totally. It's like it is spinning away in the background.

Yes-I am literally read almost a page each time (helps my reading but slows the amount of time o am on here)0
-
I was just going to ask if anyone else noticed. Seemed to start last night. Annoying as *kitten* in my view.0
-
I was going to come on here and ask yesterday but it was taking too long and I couldn’t hang out and wait. It is torturous. I saw they issued an update last night and I was so hopeful. It made no difference. 😑0
-
Yes! It's dire! It's been like that all day.1
-
Yes I just commented to one of my kids that it’s slow though maybe my internet but sounds like others having the same problem1
-
Yep, for me too1
-
Yes, me too. I hoped it was just yesterday and would be better today, but seems not1
-
same ole, same ole1
-
yes, pages time out.
yesterday, the mfp food tracker broke. i post in things, doesn't show.
-- i'm paper tracking, and can look up nutrition info on google
hope they get it all fixed soon,2 -
yes - the tracker on the web for logging food is now broken. I think my phone works ok tho. Seems in attempting to fix one issue they have created more... the story of MFP. LOL1
-
Food diary is all messed up now as @SummerSkier mentioned. I can add things to my diary, but they may or may not show up (and same with exercise). Luckily the phone app shows it all.1
-
I thought I needed to debug my computer... glad to know it is not me.1

my food tracker is working ok this morning, but painfully slow getting into discussions. getting time out notices most of the time. same with actually posting messages.1
-
I'm apologising here for not cheering on Tuesday (April 4th). I was out all day on Wednesday and when I logged in on Thursday I just kept getting timeouts - infuriating!
I'll try to do better next week!2 -
I checked the troubleshooting and news boards for MFP and their indication is that everything is “A OK”! I filed a service ticket. I encourage others to do the same….1
-
It always amazes me that the people who support this place don't actually use it so usually have no idea when something is broken. Glad you reported it Julie and it will be interesting if they fix it or just close the ticket and add it to the "list". For a while I could not figure out how to post photos on my phone on my newsfeed with the new software. And no one there knew how to do it either. I just figured it out myself after a long time - several weeks I think. And they kept closing my ticket after 2 days saying they had answered it. Imagine how many OPEN tickets they would have if they left them open until they were fixed. LOL.1

Well it’s still dead slow and stop to post. 😝
I wonder if it’s the same for premium members?0 -
it is the same for premium members an it is frustrating

Yep slow for me too...
@SummerSkier need some, think this might be going on to my 3rd month of not weighing myself and I'm loving it as know longer hve the highs and lows that are driven by the number on the scale.. I do feel my clothes are getting tighter so wen this happens for u do u then weigh urself?? also how to u set goals around weight loss or maintaining if ur not weighing urself?? . Lastly how often do u weigh urself? Thanks I'n advance. Xo1 -
this site is still driving me nuts.... i'm out until it gets fixed, hopefully soon! (part of my mental health stress reduction focus
regarding weighing - packed away my scale last May - so now, just get weighed at doctors office. It is a total mental shift - of course I have a weight management goal (for weight loss), but my focus is on actions - what I can do now, today for my body/health. As I do that - stable nourishing eating and moving to help my body - the scales at docs reflects that.
Not weighing daily/hourly/too much - breaks the up/down emotional ties - if I know I have not overeaten - then the temporary daily upswings don't drive my emotions. it has been a good thing. (many things impact small fluctuations; salt, heat, hormones.) The real thing that impacts weight over time is overeating/eating less....
previously, I also found using the 'trend lines' helpful to break the emotionality of the daily ups/downs - but also understanding hormonal 4 week cycles when I was going through that. Mostly now, for me it is salt.... processed/take out foods have way too much - so i really am looking at sodium as well.1 -

@donna25trinity the thing about not weighing is that you have to make sure you track your calories and watch your clothes. You suspect that you have gained based on the fit of your clothes. So... imo... time to go back to weighing and seeing where you are at. Once you see you can decide your next move? Cut calories for a few weeks and weigh every few days? The thing about maintenance is that it is never the same week in week out, month in etc... So you have to decide on your "line in the sand" and when you need to take action. When my clothes start to get tight I will take an initial weight and decide how much of a calorie deficit I want to work with. I might so a sliding scale of -500 -400 -300 -200 over a few days but you do need to weigh. Sorry. Life does happen and now is the time to catch it. Once I feel like things are in place I like then I might ease off weighing for a month again.
Hope this helps. It's completely normal to slide back up and have to cut little in maintenance...

I may hit maintenance before they fix the problem !!1
-
I think that they just fixed it. Things are speedier and I am now able to get to the "recent discussions" link. Up until now I was getting a "Gateway timed out" response when I clicked that link.1
-
I was getting those time out errors as well @enlightenme3 ... I sure do hope it works better now.1
-
I weigh myself once per week.
Once I switch to maintenance, whenever that may be, I am committed to weighing myself at least every 2 weeks. I lost a significant amount of weight (over 90 lbs) twice before in my life and both times, once I reached my goal, I gradually let old habits back in and I stopped weighing myself. Not going to let that happen again.2 -
