Hi, I'm Nancy. I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with T2D. I'm just beginning this journey and am opened to any advice, tips and recipes.

Welcome to the T2D club. I know it was NOT one you were looking to join.

I think especially at the start logging everything and checking BG on a schedule will help you get an idea of how your body is responding to changes in diet and meds. This was probably the most important thing for me.

I was getting a little slack with checking my after meal BG. So, I started again about a month ago. I can definitely see a pattern emerging. I have my most carb heavy meal for breakfast, and take the appropriate insulin dose. I check two hours after, and my BG is a little high. But, the rest of the day is lower carb meals, I wouldn't say 'low carb', but lower than breakfast. My sugars balance out for the rest of the day.
