Whew! I got home at 2 am after waiting endlessly for the truck with my sweet Jasper in it - the poor driver had delays, badly marked detour (welcome to QuΓ©bec...) and he finally arrived at 10:45 pm, then we had to load J into another trailer for the last 1.5 hours in a moving vehicle until he arrived at his new home just before 1 am. He took it all like a trooper. Curious and a little on edge, but so well behaved. He wins young horse of the year in my book.
He seems to like his new bed
He certainly deserved a rest. SO the tallies are all done, and I'm off to spend some hours spoiling this guy.

I bought the push mower and mowed the yard yesterday. The Emu didn't freak out as bad with a push mower. She absolutely goes nuts over the rider.
My boyfriend's father passed away in 2020. We visit the cemetery a lot. I have some family at the same cemetery, so we usually do our walk through when we go and check everyone's grave. We keep them up and clean them regularly, changing flowers frequently. When we go, we see a lot of old graves. He made a comment about how dirty some of the graves were. This has been on-going since 2020. He will point and say, "That grave is dirty," or "Look at that one." That led him to purchase a mobile pressure washer. So, after I cut the grass yesterday, we hitched the trailer and took the pressure washer on it's maiden voyage. Our first test was on my uncle's headstone. I figured if it was too much, we'd know on one of "mine." It did not disappoint.
There is another cemetery here that contains some very old graves. 3 In particular, caught our eye. We've been trying to research these women, but haven't found much yet. They are in a family plot containing 5 graves, but these three women are all buried in a North-South direction. Most graves are in an East-West direction. Anyway, we decided to adopt these graves. We take flowers and decided that this family plot was going to be our first secret "clean-up." I guess it's not a secret posting it here, but we are sure this family has no one left. The flowers we leave are never disturbed. The last person died in 1943. There is only one male in the plot. I'm going to do a rubbing of his headstone. It's the only one that's a different style, and it was damaged and broke in half at some point and has been repaired. I believe the death date is 1899. Anyway, We did a total of 15 headstones yesterday and plan to do more today.
Here's some before and afters of our secret mission.

Congrats, Liselyn! Jasper looks so relieved. Sweet boy.
Have a grand time spoiling him.
Just a quick check in. Did a lot of little things including changing out cat litter, vacuuming the bathroom ceiling fan, and swapping over the flannel sheets for cotton, putting the wintery things into a bin that'll go into a closet. We also got a walk in and ate brekky out. It's the first time we've had off on a Sunday in a while.
Be well everyone.

From beautifully cleaned gravestones to breakfast out and clean cars - we cover a lot of ground in here! I'm hoping for an early bedtime, but will get on the exercise bike for a bit to close the day.
@ashleycarole86 here are my Saturday numbers -
10892 and nothing else! Does waiting for way too many hours while feeling crazy anxious burn extra calories?
Ridiculous Fitbit Story of the Day:
My taller half is scary allergic to horses and can get a life-threatening asthma attack if I bring any horse hair into the house. Over the years, I have gotten very good at de-contaminating myself and all my stuff, so we don't have a problem very often. Part of the process is putting my glasses, watchband, cell phone case, and any other bits and bobs that were on me when I was with the horse into a sink of soapy water and giving them a good cleaning. I usually throw them in there before hopping into the shower.
This morning, my Fitbit band wasn't dry yet and I was going outside to clean the car, wearing only a bathing suit. It was a gorgeous day, and who needs more laundry, right? I slipped the little Fitbit thingy under the elastic leg of my bathing suit, right by my hip, figuring it would function just fine there while I cleaned the car and did other running around outside.
A good bit later, I realised that it wasn't there anymore. I looked around - no sign of it. The thing was gone. I continued on my way gardening, wandering, and sometime in the late afternoon I felt a startling buzzing! I had reached 10,000 steps and it was doing its little happy dance. It had migrated to around inside my bathing suit and it gave me quite a surprise, I can tell you! But I was glad to have found it so easily. I guess I will wear shorts with my bathing suit next time Pockets are a good thing.

School's out for summer!!! Woo-Hoo!!! I just skimmed 92 posts...and I mean skimmed but I enjoyed all the photos. Horses, flowers, new profile photos, farmers markets hauls, sheds (is that what it was?), and graves, oh, my. π
I went for a lovely walk in the Bosque yesterday and then ran errands. We leave for Florida in just under 4 weeks. I hope to maintain for summer, but I would like to lose a few pounds before we go.
Goals
β Follow meal plan
βWalk 5 days a week
β Workout 5 days
I will start checking in daily.6 -
@KellyBgetsfit
WOO HOO! Welcome to summer break. What a great milestone.
Brad and I are off today.. we work an extended workday Mon-Thurs that earns us one day off a month... today is that day! So, we stayed at the trailer an extra night. Brad has basically been travelling non-stop, but he's home this upcoming week.. hooray.
The campground is always SO quiet during the week.. it's lovely.7 -
@jugar I am happy to stay on as the motivator but will gladly share the role as well. Glad your beautiful horse made it to you! Hopefully he is adjusting well and feeling good.
Yesterday I did some reorganizing in the guinea pig/workout room. I had taken the exercise stuff out when I knew I needed to stop working out. I added another piggie cage for the two new boy, Barrett and Duncan, who were adopted from a rescue in March. I have the two cages and they are each on a 6 foot table with big table clothes. This gives me a lot of great storage space but it was just a mess. Now I have all the piggies stuff under one table and workout stuff under the other. Set the bench back up and got the dumbbells where I want them.6 -

When I saw the scale this morning my immediTe thought was, "Easy come, easy go." Because I k ow I did not gain 2.4 lbs in a week. It's water from salt & hormones.
But...I'm not sure where the last week went! I had two dinners out, didn't walk most days and I could really feel it! Taking myself for a walk RIGHT NOW after a big glass of water. And I've logged everything today.
I've skimmed through the posts. I'll try to checkin more this week!5 -
We were short one sheet of plywood siding to finish the job...
Plus, a lady in our community was giving away more rocks so I loaded up another truck full and I will be hauling the majority of those down the 46 steps to the shoreline to fix yet another retaining wall.
Eating hasn't been great, but exercise has been over the top. I'm going to be mindful to drink more water this week to flush all the salt from this past weekend.7 -
@conleywoods That is great news that you can return to active duty as motivator, and we'll also be welcoming @cleaneater80 who is game to join in as well. It will help so much to build on the general good team spirit and activity to bring it up a notch and help everyone keep at this challenging journey. It is so easy to get discouraged with the process, and keeping it fresh is necessary at every stage. I know we'll all look forward to some wonderful support from our motivators!
Should I say it?? Sure. We'll be your guinea pigs!6 -
@PlaneMonkey I love your little shed! Not to mention the awesome stone work and flowers.
I had a good time with Jasper this afternoon - he is now getting past the super tiredness after his long ride in the truck of doom, and today he was SO hungry and thirsty! He just wanted to devour all the things and drink all the water. I took him wandering through lots of dandelions. He loves those things. I walked him down to the road just to give him a look at a bigger part of his new home, and he ate dandelions along the road very busily - there were loads of them! Tomorrow I'll take him walking along one of the trails. Just leading for now, so that it won't all be completely new when I ride him there. It's so much more wooded and hilly here than the prairies that he'll have to get used to not being able to see to the far horizon in all directions.
No weigh-ins for tomorrow! Just a few to catch up:

Jasper sounds like such a good boy @jugar
I hope everyone had a good weekend. I don't really know where it went, and mine was 3.5 days long as we had a bank holiday yesterday.
On Friday I had a call with the doctor, explained that I have all the tools but no bandwidth to utilise them consistently. She prescribed me Sertraline which is an SSRI. I'm hoping that it will create some space for me. The therapist Kyle and I see also suggested something called 'Schema therapy' which sounds interesting. I think it's more thorough/deeper - rather than just changing patterns, like CBT, it digs into why the patterns are there. I've bought a book to learn more, and will then decide whether to look for a therapist who does it.
I have been feeling a bit better, fewer cravings. I've not bought/eaten a chocolate bar since Tuesday, and if I have thought about it, I've not been bothered enough to act. That doesn't mean there hasn't been sugar in my diet, but it's been good to not be beholden to the cravings. My back is still an issue (had physio instead of training today, and oh boy some of it is very tender!) but I've managed to get my 5k steps in each day which is good enough for me. Also made progress at the allotment - not as much as I would've liked due to my back slowing me down, but I got the frames/supports up for the squashes and cucumbers, so it still looks impressive.6 -

@DD265 good to hear you are addressing when you need help and that it's working. Great job so far
I"m knee deep in this Statistics class and the assignments are heavy ( or maybe it's bc I haven't been to school in over 20 years) I'm really enjoying it but the last 2 weeks have been stressing me out. My habits haven't been great in coping but know what changes I need to make and give myself a break at times too.4 -

Not much, but I'll take it! I definitely thought that I would've gained this week....I'm on a several week streak and I'm just waiting for the inevitable rebound. It'll probably happen soon as I intend on picking back up on my lifting...and because I'm probably not going to be as vigilant about what I eat while I'm in Billings (because....options that I don't otherwise have....)
Also - I may have to take a pass next week. Next week is going to be....interesting. I have to travel to Billings on Monday (about a 6 hr drive) for a Nutrition and Diabetes conference from Tues-Thurs. I'm presenting there first thing Weds morning (and I'm desperately trying to finish said presentation lol). That day is also my son's 16th bday. Then I'm going to drive home Thursday afternoon, get ready, then leave Friday morning to go to Choteau (a little over an hour away) for the Front Range Yoga Fest from Fri-Sun. I'm teaching Sat & Sun, but on Saturday, I have a 50th wedding celebration to attend in St. Mary/Babb area.....the logistics of it all is making my head spin1 -
