Hi, I'm 51 and would like to lose 20 pounds. I have been feeling very unmotivated for several months and would love to share this journey with others.

Good morning and welcome! I too have been very unmotivated, but I’m inching back toward it. I’ve found a motivating factor that I hope will help me. I’m meeting my son for a weekend vacation in August and would like to be thinner than I am now by then. Not only am I embarrassed by how heavy I’ve become, but I would also like to have more energy to do things with him. Do you have a motivating factor? Can you come up with a target?0

Hi Marypat. I have my yearly physical in July and I want my numbers to look good. I also want to look better in a bathing suit as I am a big water person. And I want to have more energy. I just logged my breakfast.1

Those are great goals! There’s plenty of time between now and July to make sure your numbers look good! I lowered my cholesterol a couple of years ago by reducing cheese, which was hard but worth it, and processed meats, like salami, another favorite. You can do it!1
