My first Trail 5K!

I ran in my first trail (and trail only - no pavement at all) 5K on Saturday. I finished in 40:35 (slightly slower than my last 5K, which was just below 40:00), which was great, given how hilly it was. The course felt like it was seriously all uphill. There was a lot of mud, and some of the elevation felt brutal.
It was really fun though. I finished 82/102 overall and 35/50 for women. Hey, at least I finished! LOL
I will definitely do more of these trail runs because I really enjoyed it.
As a double bonus, I am not sore - after my first 5K I was so sore I could barely exercise for a week. I went to the county fair yesterday and walked all over without issue, and I'm about to go running today.

Awesome! I think you finished great! I enjoy trail runs a lot more than pavement, but I have to increase my speed before I move on to trails. I just finished my first 5K today and came in at 47.06 minutes, but hey, I finished and I wasn't last! Congrats!0

Congratulations, I run a lot off road and it's hard so that is a good time.0

Congrats - that's a great run! I love trail running and will definitely adding more trail races on my agenda for next year. Trails are great for strengthening the stabilizer muscles of your legs and it's much better than looking at pavement.0
