Hi, everyone, and happy hump day. As I created this string, I realized I miss-dated the one for last week, and I also realized how fast time goes when I typed "June."

I'm grateful for the half pound, although I think I'm fortunate to be at the bottom of my arc on a weigh-in day. Yesterday I was at the top of it at 132 point something. I've even pushed the point whatever out of my mind.

It was a bit of a difficult week for staying on track. We've had a lot going on, including two short trips to attend anniverary celebrations. The second one was last night, and it turned out to be quite an adventure. Because northbound traffic on I-270 is typically bumper to bumper from 3 p.m. to around 8 p.m., we left early. Turns out a lot of folks must have taken the week off, because traffic was not bad at all and we arrived a little too early. So we decided to stop by a Starbucks and enjoy a latte in their outdoor seating area. And that is when the trouble began. When we left, hubby realized as we were standing in the driveway that he did not have his car keys. So I said, no worries, and I handed him mine. Rather than giving them back to me, he put them in the little hollow in the door on his side that is at arm height. When we got out at Starbucks, he locked the door and then a look went across his face. He said, "I don't have the keys!"

Normally our car makes quite a racket if you try to lock in a key fob, but this time--not a peep. And we have a Lexus SUV that is like Fort Knox. There is NO getting into that thing. So we had to think fast. We called some friends who live about 8 miles or so from there, but could not reach them. Then I thought to call my friend whose anniversary we were celebrating to ask if anyone else from Montgomery County was coming up. Luckily the answer was yes, so we had a ride from Starbucks to the celebration and then home where we could get hubby's keys and drive back up in our other car. But that meant two round trips and we were not back home until after 11:30. Once we got here, we figured out why the car did not alert us. Into that little space, hubby not only put the key fob but he also put a small case that has that protection that keeps credit cards and such safe from electronic thievery. And apparently, it can also block the fob's waves!

As we returned, I noticed that I was at about 9,400 steps, so took off around our cul-de-sac to hit 10K before midnight. (Yes, neighbors, I am nuts! :p) Other days, I didn't make it. Several days, I had things to do that left me with around 9K and I just had to push a little further the following day. So I did make my 10K 7-day average, but with my other goals, I was not as successful. I was able to get my sodium down, which makes me very happy. I checked my BP yesterday and it was 131/68. Since I don't take any medication for BP, I think at my age, that's not bad. But I'm still too low on protein and I nowhere near made my goal for daily burn. In fact, I did much worse in that category. :s Here are my 7-day averages:

Steps = 10,261
Kcals burned = 1,652
Stairs = 23 floors (This is high because Fitbit seems to think some of my hills are stairs. There are some doozies on my walk--think so steep you can't stand up straight.)

So my goals for next week are to get sodium down a little more, get protein up, and just plain move more. I am, by the way, now fully certified to teach my class, and my first effort will be next Tuesday. Another trainer and I are going to split the class. I think I'm doing lower body and balance and she's doing upper body and stretching. :)

Hope everyone is doing well, and I'll check back later for your posts.

    I'll take that.

Sarah, great reduction. :) I'm glad you found help with the keys left in the car.

I locked my keys in the car once 30 minutes away from home years back, hubby came and rescued me. My daughter was constantly locking her keys in the car. We finally signed up for AAA, and man, it has been great! Once in Cali we took our son's car to the mall with our granddaughter to treat her to lunch and American Girl Doll accessories, when we got back to his car the battery was dead. We were boxed into a small parking space with no room to maneuver at all. Called AAA and they were there in 10 minutes with long cables, charged us up enough to get back to son's house where he promptly took his car to the place AAA recommended for a new battery . . and he got it fast! We've had multiple experiences and we LOVE our AAA.

I'll check back later . . today is my busy day.

Like you two - I WILL TAKE IT!!

Holiday weekend we took Rhea and her dad with us to San Diego for a very quick (too quick) turnaround trip. We left about 9pm on Friday so only drove to Yuma where we had a hotel reservation. Rhea woke up and was excited we were at the hotel and thankfully her dad sang her right back to slumberland. She allowed all of us to sleep until 8:30am. Well I couldn't sleep as I hadn't been able to sleep flat and did not take pain meds all day so between not being able to breathe and my leg hurting, I didn't get to sleep until 3am. And my son has severe apnea (he has a sleep test coming up) his snoring kept hubby awake as well. So we were all a bit groggy getting up. We had breakfast and then packed up Rhea for the 3 hour drive to Coronado Island, where we enjoyed the beach for a couple of hours. She had a blast chasing the waves, and even went in up to her chest. Played in the sand and then headed to check into our hotel for a quick shower before heading to our Auntie's. Wonderful Filipino food (lumpia, pansit, adobo and singagang soup (seafood stew w/bok choy). All yummy. And a few of our cousins came over to meet up with us. We had a great evening. Am took Rhea swimming in our hotel pool. San Diego was cloudy and 59 and the pool, thought they said it was heated, was cold. But Rhea went in and played anyhow. It was also her first 2 sleeps away from Mommy for her (and Mommy). It was funny because when we go out of town, hubby locks our house down like it's Fort Knox. Anyhow, I told him that since we'd changed some locks around, I don't think the kids have keys yet and Mommy will probably want to meet us up here to see Rhea versus waiting for them to unload and then drive to their house. Sure enough, she had her parents drop her off at our house on their way back to their home up north. Happy he only engaged the digital lock. Mommy and Rhea were happily reunited and we may be able to take her again for a two sleep weekend.

Sarah - Great reduction and I feel for ya!! I didn't think an RFID card would block the fob, but that makes total sense. Now I will continue to pay for the Toyota Connect for both cars so that we can unlock our cars from our phones!! THANK YOU!!! What a great story to advocate for that service. Sucks that you had to go through all of that!! UGH!

Sheesh - great reduction!!! I know today is your busy day with family calls and zoom nights.

With travelling last week, I had to cancel all of my PT sessions, so I was back at it yesterday. UGH the weights were HEAVY!! I'm sure that I'll feel better after tomorrow's session. Today I had to go into the office for a sales meeting. I ran into one of the owners as I was leaving and it was great to catch up with him. He inquired how working remote was going and I told him all of the benefits and seeing hubby and I'm hoping he'll help me to remain remote as long as possible. I managed a lot for him personally as well as worked hand in hand with him for new community set ups and stuff. I do miss some of the office interactions, but dang, that drive stinks now. It took almost an hour to get in and then another to get back home. Oh and while at the office my laptop screen decided to stop working. I got home, reconnected to the three monitors and it all went fine. Though the laptop screen itself will not operate. Then the whole system stopped working. So I've emailed for a new laptop. I'm awaiting for a connection from the team to get my personal laptop connected until a replacement can be procured and set up. Thankful I decided to buy a new personal laptop so I do have a back up. So I'm unable to get much work done. My laptop popped back on, but it's not reliable so I don't want to get into anything heavy and risk losing anything. I also have to leave just a tad early to get my 3 hour hair appointment done tonight.

Hi, everyone. Just checking in quickly after logging food and thought I'd share that I've been in a bit of funk because sometimes just saying so helps it pass.

Friday I just felt out of sorts and so did hubby as we got into an argument over, of all things, how to measure out the cats' kibble. :| They're on a new prescription kind to see if our diabetic kitty will finally lose some weight. All the low cal ones we've bought in the pet store have not made a difference. Anyway, Friday was tough. I also talked to my sister Friday night and learned that her pain is getting much worse.

But yesterday was better and so is today, although I still feel just a little "off." I think yesterday my mood was also affected by the miserable hot, humid weather. Because it was so hot, I could not walk or get out and work in my plants. We did get together for a short time with some friends last night and that helped a bit.

I'm also finding that my weight keeps jumping up to the 132's every few days and I haven't isolated a reason, other than perhaps drinking a bit more because of the heat. Doesn't it know not to do this when I'm already out of sorts? :p

Well, enough of my moaning and groaning. I need to run out to the store and then get my behind moving either via my hilly outdoor route (if it's cooling down) or on the dreadmill.

Lois, I would take that pound, too. You have done very good the last few weeks and should be proud. Hope the new laptop has arrived and that your work week will run smoothly.

Hope we hear from Kelly and Katie soon.
