My Diet Plan; it's working

I've lost 10 lbs in the last 30 days on this plan

1. My Greek Smoothie every morning for energy, to feel full - it works
a. Happy to provide recipe for this smoothie in another post, it works
3. Calorie goal 2,030 net of exercise a day (use Apple Watch/iPhone to track exercise)
4. I drink 5 to 10 oz of red wine a day for the anti-oxidants, to maintain my sanity
a. I couldn't lie to myself and cut out all alcohol; so, made up this diet to fit by lifestyle
5. Breakfast 460 calories
6. Lunch lunch 460 calories
7. Dinner, snacks, wine the balance (yes I snack. A treat myself to maybe 3 red vine licorice sticks, 5 saltine crackers with peanut butter...)
8. Take one day a week off the diet to maintain a degree of pleasureful eating
a. one martini a week on that day, which can be a random day.
b. occasionally a little brown liquor as a bonus for being a good boy. This could also be a day where I got a lot of exercise playing golf.
9. Track everything, (and I mean everything) that goes into my mouth including water.
a. I use MyFitnessPal
10. zero candy
11. 7000 steps a day (10000 is not realistic at my age)
12. Barbie and I split meals when dinning out
13. Eat pretty much anything I want, just track the calories every meal as the day progresses
a. By tracking every meal as it happens motivates one to store some calories for later in the day. If I blow it at lunch, then I cut back on dinner, snacks, wine (maybe one class of red instead of two)
14. Discipline, discipline, discipline... you get the idea
15. Bonus from exercise ranges from 100 to 200 calories in a day. Golf + some gardening can add up to the 200.
16. Key daily nutrients to watch using MyFitnessPal; salt, sugar, cholesterol, protein...
a. If I blow a day in this category, adjust the next day
17. Make it a game, each day challenge yourself
18. Weigh myself once a week, despite how good I've been on the diet some weeks the scale lies to me Emoji
a. the real progress did not begin to show up until the end of week 2

What do you think? I'm at 230 as of this morning, hoping for 220 by the 4th of July. We'll see...

What's your plan?

I follow Weight Watchers mainly because I worked for them for 11 years.
With age and medications, it is hard to keep weight down or to lose weight; but I keep trudging along.
    Congrats on loss!
You are doing good losing with alcohol, which slows metabolism down.
I once enjoyed red wine daily but being on blood thinners doctors' frown upon.
