I cannot believe I forgot this technique that was incredibly effective for me in the past!! Thank you @TerriRichardson112 for reminding me!

This month, I invite you to dive into a fantastic visualization technique that can revolutionize the way you approach your healthy lifestyle goals. 🧠💪
Introducing the "I am a person who" visualization technique! 🌟
🌱 What is it?
This technique involves tapping into the incredible power of your imagination to reshape your mindset.
How does it work?
1️⃣ Identify a habit, skill, mindset you’d like to embody.
2️⃣ Now think of someone you know who does this thing or embodies this attitude effortlessly.
3️⃣ Then take a minute to imagine yourself with that same mindset, confidence, habit, etc.
See yourself making healthy choices effortlessly, enjoying nutritious meals, and engaging in regular exercise.
Immerse yourself in this visualization, embracing the emotions and sensations of being that person.
4️⃣ Now, create an “I am a person who” statement while in this visualization state.
“I am a person who doesn’t eat sweets” while picturing my friend Terry who dislikes sweets.
“I am a person who prioritizes my rest & sleep” while picturing my friend Milo. Strict 9PM bedtime.
“I am a person who eats only healthy foods” while picturing my kidney donor.
5️⃣ Consider placing an “I am a person” sticky note on your car dashboard, bathroom mirror, kitchen cabinet, etc.
I successfully weaned myself off chocolate & restaurant desserts in the past with this technique. I pictured my healthiest friends. I actually end my I am a person statements with their name.
“I am a person who does not eat desserts like Karen.”
“I am person who prioritizes my daily walks like Marianne.”
Try it! It’s very magical!

Living NOW
I have earned the right to do just what I choose.
Ought to, must, and should are words I can, and do, refuse.
Mindfully, I consider what serendipity brings my way,
with body, mind, and spirit coming into play.
Even mundane tasks can produce an awesome lead,
if the spirit is willing, and the mind is freed.
One never knows the minute when creativity will engage,
and opportunity will stalk across the stage.
I live with eyes wide open, alert for every main chance,
to stimulate my mind, and change my circumstance.
Happy and content to greet each new beginning,
in the certain knowledge that waking up is winning.

Since my goal for July didn’t fly, I’m going to revisit it but take it down to a tiny habit. Instead of planning to make a 1860s skirt, I plan to sew at least a little every day.

I have a huge habits/ goals list from July that I am finding hard to narrow down for August! I suppose if I was it break down my main focus this month is honest tracking, leaving work on time and letting go of control, time slotting tasks to avoid feeling overwhelmed at work and bored/ lonely at home, getting motivated to take bub out for a walk after work, not grazing, stay under calories on days off work and lastly to loose weight this month!!! My 10 day holiday from work starts today and really keen to keep working out and eat within calorie limit in this time!
Really keen to make changes and not self sabbatage this month! Xox

I am a person who doesn't pick at food, who doesnt eat her sons left overs, who has control around food, who Tracks honestly and stays with her calorie limit like my friend Michelle!!!
I am a person who makes moving a priority, getting my toddler involved and leading my example by showing him that u can hve fun by moving instead of thinking fun is always centred around food and treats like my friend Michelle!

Yes, he’s healing - his elbow is wrapped up & his knees are healing well now.
Been a really stressful few days. Called 9-1-1 for my Dad, then late night testing for bladder infection for him, then a day at urgent care for IV antibiotics.
Began recording food again today, Aug 6.

Bravo @77tes!! What a beautiful hat & a beautiful lady! Your joy shines through!!
Thank you re: Dad. I figured out he had a UTI. Within 12 hours of an intravenous antibiotic he went from being unsteady walking to getting up and walking without Walker or even a cane. (Thinking he might had had the infection longer than anyone realized)
Phew!

Family celebrations
fill me with delight.
Happy smiling faces
are such a wondrous sight.
The centre of the table
filled with simple wholesome fare.
Everyone contributing
to the food we share.
Laughter and conversation,
music to my ears.
Memories assail me
of all the passing years.
I have had the privilege
if helping them to thrive.
Because of me, these people
are vibrantly alive.
The thought of this achievement
puts a smile upon my face,
to see what I have added
to the human race.

But a few are not delighted,

despite my hopes and dreams
there’s been too much precipitation
Which is vexing to extremes.
The weeds are growing rampant
without their daily hoe.
They’re choking out the lettuce
that I would prefer to grow.

Early each Wednesday morning
we set out to replenish our stores.
We’re there at the local shopping mall
as soon as they open the doors.
We carry a list of requirements
to make sure we get what we need.
It helps us to maximise effort
and accomplish the task with great speed.

Living NOW
I have earned the right
to do just what I choose.
Ought to, must, and should
are words I can, and do, refuse.
Mindfully, I consider
what serendipity brings my way,
with body, mind, and spirit
coming into play.
Even mundane tasks
can produce an awesome lead,
if the spirit is willing,
and the mind is freed.
One never knows the minute
when creativity will engage,
and opportunity
will stalk across the stage.
I live with eyes wide open,
alert for every main chance,
to stimulate my mind,
and change my circumstance.
Happy and content
to greet each new beginning,
in the certain knowledge that
waking up is winning.

Aug 6 decided to get off restaurant food & desserts. Did it in the 6th with effort.
On Aug 7 I almost went to get a dessert and talked myself out of it when I FINALLY remembered my labs clearly indicate I shouldn’t eat that food. Relieved. Then had to talk myself out of a second craving. I reminded myself of health effects AND that I would just have to face the cravings again tomorrow if I ate the dessert. I returned home & ate grapes, raw nuts, etc. Success.
I am now halfway through Day 3 (it takes me 3 days to get back on track) Aug 8. Going to drink gobs of water & eat some grapes my darling husband got me Aug 6.
The great news is my blood pressure is lowest it’s been in 2-3 weeks. Pulse too. Clearly healthy eating agrees with me.

I am a seamstress who enjoys the creative outlet of sewing and sews every day like my friend Natalie.
This week we got our roof replaced, so there was a lot of upheaval and when they finished a lot of cleanup! I sewed 5 of the 7 days this week. And I did get a summer blouse repaired. I think even my friend Natalie may have skipped sewing during roof replacement

I love that I can be creative.
It fills me with utter delight.
Bringing something unique into existence
makes my day merry and bright.
Poetry, painting, and craft are my joy.
When I cover blank pages with thought,
or manipulate paper and fabric with skill,
I treasure the pleasure I wrought.
It appeals to the need to produce
tangible evidence of effort expended.
Though often results bring surprises
when they do not turn out as intended.
