I keep reading about how great this board is and figured that I should finally ask for some advice. I started this journey in February at 156. I'll try to recap this as easy as I can.
Feb-April - Cardio 30 min a day/3xs week - eating about 1500
April to June - Started Insanity 5-6xs/week - eating about 1800-1900 (according to TDEE) - lost a lot of inches
June - busy work month couldn't keep up with workouts so I went down to eating BMR 1400
July - Sept - started lifting with a trainer 3 times/week and try to get in 2 other cardio days - eating around 1600 on workout days
Since I started lifting two months ago, my measurements and weight loss have completely stalled. I will admit that I am not great at logging on the weekend, because I tend to graze rather than meals. I wouldn't say I go over 1900 calories each day. I am also bad at protein, not a big meat eater, so this is a struggle for me.
Provide your stats (height/weight/age/bodyfat% if you know it/etc) 5'2, 151.4, 28.4% (handheld)
What's your current gross intake of calories, on average? 1600-1700
What's your current average intake of protein, carbs, and fats, in grams? (GRAMS, not percent!) 80 P, 200 C, 40 F
Do you use a food scale and measure everything? When I am at home
Do you track all of your intake, daily? (Everything?) Yes
Do you take cheat days or days off? Don't log everything on the weekend.
How much weight have you lost so far and over what time period? Approx. 5lbs since Feb.
Describe your activity (exercise and non exercise) and did you change that activity withing the last couple of months? Sedentary at work, walk to metro, lunch and home (approx. .5 miles), weight lifting 3 times a week (30min), 2 days cardio (30 min - jogging)
How long have you been stalled and if it is not a complete stall please be very specific as to how much you have lost over the stalled period. - Stalled since July 6th, measurements and weight have stalled.
Are you breastfeeding? No
Do you have thyroid issues/risks or PCOS? No, thyroid checked
Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!

Hi
On looking at your diary, you have quite a few days missing, and you mention you do not log everything over weekends, so it is really hard for us to give you advice as to intake. Your diary shows an average of between 1,700 - 1,800 calories, and you are likely eating more than that with the missed days and missed logging.
Could you set your target to 1,600 (no eating of exercise calories back) and use the following macros:
Protein: 105g
Fats: 50g
as minimums an the balance where you like based on energy and preference.
Make sure you weigh as much as you can and log everything, including condiments, and get back to us in 2 weeks with an update, or earlier if you are having any issues.0 -
Hi Sara,
Thanks for the input. I will try out the 1600 each day. My issue with TDEE is the inconsistency of the amount of workouts. Some weeks I can go 7 days a week, some weeks I can only go 3 times a week. Still trying to find the balance of the amount of calories vs amount of workouts. I'll give this a try for the next few weeks. Thanks again.0
