Hello group. Just started a semaglutide generic a couple of weeks ago

It's difficult finding conversations and thoughts from people about semaglutide, probably in part because it goes by so many names

I just took my third dose of 0.125, looks like others here are on a much higher dose.

It really didn't do much for me the first two weeks but now lately food just kinda sits in my belly and I burp a lot. I'm hungry from being in a deficit for a year, but also not hungry because my stomach is so full even just from coffee.

Anyway, how are you all doing? How long have you been on it, and what would you say to someone new?

I don't know anything about compounded semaglutide (except to avoid it due to lack of regulation, and sketchy sources for the active ingredient, since food-grade semaglutide is NOT available from the manufacturers). Many compounding pharmacies are being sued right now for false claims; there are multiple recent articles in the media regarding this.

When using Wegovy or Ozempic, the protocol for the first two months is designed to get your body accustomed to the medication. Any weight loss during this period is a bonus. Once you're up to 1mg/week dose level, the appetite suppression is enhanced, and hopefully you're free of side-effects. Weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week is ideal, but varies individually depending on how much a person has to lose, gender, food choices, and activity levels.

Because food sits in your stomach so much longer, many people opt to eat their larger meal mid-day. This should help minimize the sulphur burps and uncomfortable feeling from lying down with a too-full stomach. There are various over the counter products to help reduce gasiness, as well. FaceBook has an active semaglutide group with very helpful documents pinned to the top which provide options and recommendations for common issues with semaglutide.

Hey! I lost 50lbs on compounded semeglutide. Most likely your dose is .25 of semeglutide for the first 4 weeks but the amount of liquid you inject is .125.

It’s common not to lose a lot of weight until you reach a therapeutic dose. Therapeutic doses start at 1mg. This is a long term medication and it’s not meant for fast instant weight loss. I started taking it February 14th of this year. When I was on .25 and .5mg weekly doses I was losing about .5lbs a week. May is when I started seeing 2lbs a week weight loss once my medication started hitting the higher dose range. The last month or so I’m losing 1 to 1.5lbs a week.

According to this study the mean weight loss of semeglutide was 14.9% by week 68. Half of the people on semeglutide lost more than 15% of their body weight by week 68. (The control group only lost 2.4% of their body weight for reference)

I’ve hit over 15% weight loss and I’m on week 33. Everyone is different

Not the type of responses I was expecting at all. One person telling me my source isn't good (it is), and one person regurgitating the studies everyone has already read before starting it.

I'm having a good experience on it so far at least. Broke my plateau and lost 10lbs in my first month. Hunger is in check in a way that it has never been before.

    Best of luck to everyone.

I started 3 weeks ago, 0.25mg. One more week and then I up it to 0.5mg. I am diabetic and my A1c was 12.9 ... just a little bit high. But my blood sugars have been great since starting. Very rarely are they hitting 200. I am not hungry, feel full quicker and I am down 6.6lbs.

I started it last week. Just got my second dose today. I am not diabetic but I am 49 so my age has affected many weight loss efforts prior. Add a foot injury and the vicious cycle began. So, after many chats with my doctor we decided this would be best for me to try. I lost 5.7 lbs this first week. The “food noise” has been quite reduced in my brain. That was a big deal for me. First few days were rough as my body adjusted but now I feel less bloated and finding myself with more energy.

Hi I'm into week 9 and down 20 lbs. I just moved up to .5 if I include extra movement like walking even 15 min it bumps up the weightloss!
