HOW IT ALL WORKS: The February challenge runs for weeks, from February 4 - March 2. F2F months always start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday, so adjust your calendars!
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard.
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the Leap Month begin!!

Morning team.
I’m Nan, 69, single, Scottish ( hence I am responding while most of you are still catching zzzzs)
I’m slowly adjusting to living alone as I’ve always been a home bird and lost mum in June last year.
I am an active member of my local church, taking responsibility when I can for the weeds in 5 flower beds, the brick paved car park and the paths around the building. As you can imagine I spend a lot of time on my knees and I’m grateful that my body is still happy to let me get back up after I’m done
I have a sizeable garden at home too which I try to keep tidy.
My best friend lives 80 miles away and she recently had to give up driving because of cataracts so I’m there Monday to Wednesday alternate weeks so she can get easily to hospital each of these days for chemo which is doing a great job of keeping inoperable tumours at bay. We’ve recently made Monday to Wednesday our every week plan so I can organise my other activities into some sort of schedule.
My current home challenge is making the living room mine with mostly new fixtures and fittings and after 3 weeks hard slog as of 3 February at breakfast I have only one wall still to wallpaper. I’ll be playing hooky from church tomorrow if I’m not done with that today
My goals for this month are to
Walk every day morning after breakfast and afternoons before dinner outside if weather permits and mixing exercise bike and dreadmill when it’s wet. I’m walking virtually on the Great Wall this year
@Megan_smartiepants1970 I would like to join the step challenge with a minimum goal of 6000 steps per day but hope to achieve more most days.
Keep within my budget calories so I can lose that excess weight and width that denies me access to some lovely clothes I refuse to throw away
Set my living room back to a living space.
@Megan_smartiepants1970 Do you do chair exercises when your ankle denies you standing exercise? They can be challenging.
Looking forward to getting to know the team and working with you all
My start weight ( I weigh on Tuesday) is 150 lbs

Hello Downsizers, a warm welcome to our new members @myndieet, @Lessennan and @andreajlnhe.
I'm Lis, 60, from Wales uk but have lived in Spain for 22 years. I spend about 9 months of the year travelling mostly in my rv ... its my happy place and where the weight loss happens as i really struggle when I'm at home as I socialise too much!!
I started my weight loss journey in August 2021 at 276lb and reached goal 176lb in December 2023. I then went into celebration mode and gained 19lb 🤣🤣
Normally the weight gain would continue until i was back up to 276lb plus some ... but not this time! I'm still here. Determined to never get so obese again and I've lost 9lb in January! 11lb to goal (which i might lower when i get there!)

Hi all! My name is Linda and I am one of the team captains along with the amazing Megan. We have some wonderful motivators Nacho and Lis. Ask one of us if you need help. I take care of recording your weights. I will mark the post with insight so we know it’s been recorded. If you need to miss a weigh in please let me know so it can be marked as excused in the spreadsheet.
About me
I am 59 and will turn 60 in June. I have lived in London, Ontario for almost 25 years but I will always consider myself a proud Newfoundlander. I have three children. I have a son and daughter here in London and my youngest daughter lives in Scotland. I have four beautiful granddaughters, two in London and two in Scotland. My granddaughters range in age from 2 to 18. I like to play cards, play games, read and do diamond art. I have two fat cats named Nick and Lady.
My journey to maintenance
I am starting maintenance this month. I have lost over 111 pounds. It’s been an interesting road to maintenance. I started my journey by seeking therapy for binge eating disorder. It was the best thing I ever did. I have had several tough periods of stress which triggered binge eating. The group was patient with me even though I gained weight during these times. I have quite a few medical conditions that sometimes made it a bit harder but I learned to lose weight while dealing with them and taking medications that increased your appetite. In fact, weight loss has improved some of the medical conditions. My rheumatoid arthritis seems to be better controlled. My mental health has definitely improved. My A1C is in the non diabetic range and the doctor is spreading my diabetic checks out. I have been taking ozempic the last year and it has helped with the last of my weight. Sure it helps decrease your appetite but you still have to make good choices and resist temptations. It’s not a fix. Weight loss is not easy. I think it takes hard work and help from others to make it happen.
Who I owe thanks to for helping me get here:
*This team most importantly
*My therapist at the eating disorder clinic
*My family
*My family doctor and specialists
*My friends
*Myself
February goals
Maintain my weight
Exercise 5 times per week
Reach step goal(4,750) 6 out of 7 days
Close my rings on my Apple Watch
Get my February badge( meet exercise goal 20 days)
Please send myself @lindamtuck2018 Megan @Megan_smartiepants1970 Nacho @NachDeezy Lis @Slimmersixties a friend request if you
Take time to introduce or reintroduce yourself to team. It is so nice to learn about each other and their journey

Hi Everyone, I'm a busy mom of 5 working to get to my goal weight. I've been trying to lose my pregnancy weight; my youngest just turned 4, so it's been 4 years that I've been trying. Over the course of those 4 years I've had many long periods of just not doing anything but maintaining, or even losing then gaining again. I've lost about 32 pounds overall and I'm only maybe 4 pounds to goal. I had momentum from September through December, then started losing momentum last month. I thought joining this challenge might help! Thanks for the warm welcome, and I look forward to the challenge!2

Don’t worry about how long it takes. They say people who lose their weight slower tend to keep it off. I am glad it took me so long. Congrats on losing 32 ponds. I can’t imagine trying to lose weight and take care of 5 kids. I look forward to you joining the goal zone soon.2 -
Looking for tips
@liketoyak has asked for some lunch ideas in the January chat. Let’s hear your suggestions.1 -

My Saturday
Started with a late rise
Fed me and the birds
Had a 4 mile walk incorporating some incidental shopping I needed
Home to a bacon roll for lunch then tackled some more wallpaper hanging
And thought I’d hang a couple of strips on the feature wall, had a bit of bother matching the second strip, conquered it and stupidly thought I had it sussed and cut 5 strips in preparation for almost disaster because 1st one didn’t match.
I call it cause to claim an nsv since I didn’t have a tantrum nor a stress binge and opened a fresh roll of paper, matched it correctly hung it and discovered that I could use it as the next strip. Bingo! With 3 more already cut I proceeded to hang them interspersed with matching alternate strips. Phew only one wasted piece and 8 hung instead of the planned three.
Leaving just 5 fiddly ones with a radiator and electric plug for tomorrow.
Time for dinner
Now for a therapeutic shower and some pain cream and a relax with the electric blanket before bedtime
Hope you are all having a good day like me

Hey hey, team! Time to kick February's behind!
Welcome new friends- always happy to see more folks coming in, energized about getting healthy. Please feel free to friend me and reach out any time! Safety in numbers!!
January was a strange month for me with figuring out how to be a person again and traveling. Big shout out to @RoblinB and @Slimmersixties for checking on me and keeping me locked in during quite a different month for me.
I started with these fine folks about 10 months ago or so in April. I was weighing 630 lbs (45 stone) and only mobile enough to get from one chair to another (I had chairs strategically set up in every room). I was just lounging around waiting to kick the bucket. Instead I found the downsizers and started recording my intake. Within the next week or two I should be down 200 lbs since April.
Really cool to have such a huge loss in such a short amount of time, but it really speaks to the amount of abuse I was putting myself through with food.
I feel like a different person and expect it to get even better this month. Glad to be battling alongside yall.
Much love yall!💜

JOURNAL PROMPT: WHAT DO YOU THINK
ABOUT YOU?
口TASK:
Get outside & connect
Sunday journal
I’m worth working on healthy options for.
I should be proud of what I have achieved outside of food and intentional exercise this last week persevering with my decorating project while still putting myself first and getting out for a good walk first
I’m going to get out and connect later today after I get up around 7 and do some tidy up jobs by walking to and from church .2 -
Hi newbies!!! I am in rural part of Ohio and I am 53 years old. Mom to twins that are 29 and step mom to a 34 and 32 year old sons. I am ready for February. I was really battling in my head in January (and most of 2023). So discouraged. But this is a new month and I have a new why! I have a new grandson born on 1/30/24. My husband went to the doctor and his cholesterol is high. He told the doctor no to medication to lower it. He wants to change his diet instead. So since I do the cooking I need to change for both of us. That means making more heart healthy meals. My step goals for February is to make 10,000 steps each day. To work out 5 out of 7 days. Throw out excuses out the window.4

@Lessennan
You have lots of patience hanging wallpaper. Great job not binge eating from the stress. I love when we can find NSV’s in our day. Your supper looks amazing.
@NachDeezy
Your transformation is mind blowing. I know I keep repeating myself but you are such an inspiration to me and the team.
@myhands4God
I hope you are enjoying your new grandbaby. That’s great your husband is going to try diet changes before medication.

Walk: 3/3
The last week of the January challenge went pretty good. I finally got all my goals for the week completed and lost weight. I actually slept in this morning so I won’t have time to go to the pool. We are taking our granddaughters bowling and then to Dairy Queen. I am not supposed to bowl but I may try anyway. Shh don’t tell my pain specialist. I plan on having a mini blizzard and I have it logged already.
If it’s your rest day, enjoy! Otherwise, get moving!3 -
