I'm down 0.6 pounds. I had another strong week of sticking with my plan. I even went out to lunch, and made a "smarter" choice, and at the same time didn't simply suffer through a salad (I had shwarma on a salad, skipped the pita bread). I did take motrin through the first part of the week, and my weight was elevated from it (probably water retention?), but I stopped on Wednesday and watched my weight come back down.

I'm down around 7 pounds since starting this latest time period of focus.

Running is going ok. I had a lot of back pain (from lifting a 5 gallon beer carboy out of a chest fridge) and foot pain (probably because I had been running "funny" because of the back pain). That's why I took a bunch of motrin earlier in the week. It's significantly improved now, even without taking days off from running.

All in all, a good week.

I'm down 3 pounds. I think last week's increase was an anomaly, so the scale caught up this week.

I had a good week. Getting a jump on meal-planning on the weekend was really helpful. I plan to do more of the same this weekend. My vegetable consumption improved due to this. At a minimum, there's a nice salad at the ready in our fridge. My husband also enjoys this.

I'm having hip replacement surgery in a couple weeks, so I'm concentrating on eating well and staying away from allergens/foods that I'm sensitive to. Because my food allergies aren't life-threatening, I'm not always diligent in complete avoidance. But when I do completely avoid them, the difference in how I feel is remarkable. Inflammation just creeps up if I let it. It's a bit frog in boiling water.

    Have a great weekend!

It’s been a drab week in NH, with rain five out of the past six days this week - and more for tonight and tomorrow. At least it’s not snow! Weather notwithstanding, it was a decent week weight-wise. I’m still in my Green Zone, just slightly down from last week. I’d like to get down a little further before I go away on vacation at the end of the month.

Most of you know my daily weight is fairly volatile, and I caught myself in an interesting mind trap this week. I was down 3.6# one day and patted myself on the back for a job well done. The next day, I was up 2.8# with no apparent reason, and I was frowning at the scale in dismay. Then I caught myself and laughed - I’m down 0.8# over two days, and I’m unhappy - really? How long does it take to sink in that no gain or loss is permanent, and that’s there’s often no explanation for what happens at the scale?

So I shrugged, and got on with my normal day. 🤷🏻‍♂️
