I tried cauliflower rice. I like cauliflower and I like rice, so it should be something I’d like. The texture was off somehow, and I wasn’t crazy about it.

Over the last year, I tried kimchee for the first time, and I immediately regretted NOT having tried it previously. Awesome stuff that is very good for the gut. I have incorporated it into my regular diet. I add kimchee and fermented sauerkraut (not self-stable) to many of my dishes, now - especially sandwiches. Yum!

Now I’m thinking I’ve gotta try kimchee - in a small, controllable dose. It’s sort of in my family, in that my sister and brother-in-law adopted two Korean sibling groups for a total of five kids.

We eat things that are both gluten free and point friendly, so finding new menu items is a challenge. New items tend to be baked deserts, while we pull from tried and true main dishes.

This isn't super-recently, but I've enjoyed the current wave of fake-meat products. I like the Beyond Burgers, and the fake sausages (not sure of the brand). I keep kosher, and as such, we don't mix meat and dairy. Fake meat allows me to have a cheese"burger" or pasta with sausage and cheese. That adds some variety to our menu.

Both the Beyond and Impossible brats and hot Italian sausages are pretty good. The Morning Star breakfast patty are hard to discern from actual meat unless, maybe, you'd just eaten a Jimmy Dean sausage patty. All of the ground is pretty indistinguishable, depending on how you prepare it.

I am eating vegetarian these days, and these are regulars in my kitchen.

I've done my best to kick the majority of carbs that's the bad carbs like bread, potatoes, pasta, and the list goes on. DW and I are searching through some cooblkbook recipes for dinners that are combined in the crick pot or soup pot. We're still searching. Meanwhile I'm losing the battle iron some other fronts.
