I'm trying to push back to the on-demand plentiful food culture that most of us experience. It wasn't always this way and that is how we get in trouble. Especially with prompts to eat That we observe around us, including on screens.

I hope everybody has a good and healthful weekend.

In the merry, merry month of May I took 31 walks! Yay!

Total for month 44.2 by bike 🚴, 140 miles walking 🚶‍♀️ 32 more miles than last month.

@MadisonMolly2017 Wonderful that you you’ve increased your average! Brava!

@Michaela_LaGata - so good to hear you trip went well! So true - backin the day, someone had to make the cookies or cake, so they were a rare treat.

    Review of May:
I am happy with my progress in may. Despite the stress of resetting my devices, I did not abandon my Solid Habits and stayed on track. I have stopped the upward creep and am now hoping to redress the balance.

    This month I will …..
May Focus: I have noticed a modicum of creep up in my weight, so need to be more mindful of food choices, especially snacking.
Making small changes in food choices.
    In May I am …..
… swapping chocolate based snacks for less calorific alternatives. 💐no chocolate 😔 mostly no chocolate (1 small indulgence allowed)
To help me do this I am …..
… logging my food first thing each morning and sticking to the plan
    📝📝📝📝📝📝📝
    📝📝📝📝📝📝📝
    📝📝📝📝📝📝📝
    📝📝📝📝📝📝📝
    📝📝📝
    Other steps
… leaving my weekly chocolate bars off my shopping list
… putting all chocolate based snacks out of sight
… having less calorific choices easily available
By the end of May I will …..
… have become more selective in my choices.

    💐💐💐😔💐💐💐
    😑😑💐
The end of the month has been quite fraught. I got locked out of my iPhone and iPad, and eventually had to do a factory reset. Only just got my iPhone reset on 27th. 😵‍💫 Still recovering data. Quite pleased that I didn’t go off the rails like I would have done in the past.

    Yesterday June 1
In bed by 12 - yes, slept well.
    Eat healthy - yes
    Prelog - partially
    Move - yes.

Went to my initial evaluation at PT Friday. She said my body is definitely salvageable. She said I need a good massage, so I will do that this week.

Yesterday I did some meal planning and made out a list. Today I shopped and I'm prepping. Should be good for a week.

I had forgotten about the 15 minute declutter and my house shows it. I decluttered 1 room yesterday. No idea how long it took, but it was easy. The hard part was just to decide. Start. Anyway I'm adding that one daily.

Michaela, I can't believe you went on vacation and only had one dessert.! Kudos.

In bed by 12. About 12:05. Not great sleep.
Eat healthy. Healthy food, yes. Only about 500 calories, so no.
    Prelog. Yes.
    Move. Some.
    Declutter. No.

    PT today. It was easier.

Finished my food prep about 10pm. Very tired, but a packed fridge. All healthy. Mostly low cal. No time or energy for exercise.

Tonight is first water aerobics of the season. I'm excited!

Headed to bed soon, but I have five more minutes to get my exercise in then I'm done. Great walk in the last remaining sunlight over the mountains tonight. I love summer evenings.

I'm not big on sweets, but I do love so-called healthy whole-grain carbs.
I just like healthy food. And I want to eat too much but with my intermittent fasting and my tool for fasting on my phone I'm doing better and also using mindfulness and distinguishing mouth hunger from true physiological hunger. Getting all that FOOD noise out of my head Through an adaptation of mindfulness-- and Learning to urge surf- It's just a thought it's just a desire I don't On it. And I already satisfied my nutrition needs for today.

Sorry all I had trouble seeing the end of my comment above. I'm trying to say urges are just thoughts and feelings about wanting food. I don't have to act on it. I have some tools and strategies to mitigate it. Now I have to strengthen those tools and strategies because they don't get strong or become internalized by themselves.

Good night wherever you are and sweet dreams🌌🌙

    Hi @Corina1143
You are doing great. Your self-honesty will get you to your goals!

I wanted to say that when I “eat bad” I actually feel “hungrier” - mostly mouth hunger not true hunger. True hunger - you will eat cottage cheese or a salt-free cracker etc because you are HUNGRY! Mouth hungry - if you tune in- wants salt or crunch or creamy (fat) or the sugar hit. And here’s the kicker …at least for me…salty foods, sugary foods, fatty foods make me want more of them.

    You are doing great!
