Struggling with a plateau

I was banded on 1/31/13. Down 43lbs to date, but the first 40 pretty much came off easily between Jan - May including 2-3 fills, then I stalled all summer at about 40lbs lost. I held stead for 3 months, had 1 fill but it didn't do much during that time. After meeting with my NP 2 weeks ago she suggested a drastic calorie cut (1000 vs 1600 I had been at) and up my cardio to 60 mins 7d/wk from the 45mins/5d/wk. She explained 40lbs tends to be a big sticking point for people.
So far, with my fill 2 weeks ago and 5x a week 1hour+ cardio sessions things are starting to move, down 3lbs in 2 weeks. Very much struggling with my food though, I can't seem to get below 1400cal without being starving. My food choices are good and I am hitting 80g+ of protein. I just feel like since I burn about 1000cal with my workout, to eat 1000cal/day which would be a net of 0 cals/day is unachievable.
The idea that I could hit another plateau in 40 more lbs and be forced down to the 600-800 range for cals is scaring me, I can't imagine living on that and still working out like a beast every day.

Hi there, I was banded June 2012 and I've lost 116 pounds. Let me tell you a bit about my day to day and see if this helps. I am eating 800-1200 calories every day (staying closer to the 800 mark everyday), and working out at least an hour sometimes more 3-5 days a week. When I brought this up to my nutritionalist, she said that 800 calories is very common for weight loss surgery patients, she was not concerned with this number at all. When I finally got my heart rate monitor I found that I was burning close to 1000 calories a day, but usually between 500-1000 calories burned a day for sure, and I never eat back my calories burned. I have 7 ccs in my 10 cc band, and I feel pretty comfortable. I try and always eat good protein first to stay full longer, but even if I eat pasta, I still find that I won't be hungry until the next meal, which is exactly where we should be.
I'm surprised to read that you could consume 1600, sounds like maybe the band was too lose for awhile. I'm not saying starve yourself in any way, but the point of the band is to be able to eat low amounts of food and be full. So I can consume like 1000 calories, but i'm not hungry at all, which is why I feel I'm finally at the best point with my band fills. Everyone is different though, this is just my story0
