Blood tests yesterday and today adventure

Yesterday I went for my 3 month blood tests.
They couldn't get any blood. Not even when they took the needle out to try another place.
So, I went back today to try again. I drank a lot of water last night and again this morning. I wore a jacket to keep my arms warm. I even used a heating pad in the morning to warm up my arms and veins. All the things the ladies had told me years ago to do.
Well, it took 3 ladies, 3 times each to finally get blood. And I think if the last lady hadn't pressed down on my veins, I'd still be there.
This adventure made me think of McMillianmail's description of our blood. If mine is like mashed potatoes, there are lumps in it.
Another adventure over for another 3 months. My 3 month check up is next week.

Ouch! I do always try to be REALLY hydrated when I go for labs. It helps with the blood draw and the pee-in-a-cup both.

We will be interested in results!

Blood work is back. A1C it up a point to 6.9%. Considering my eating lately, I'm not surprised. It's still below 7%. And, I had reduced my insulin ratio per meal.
Low plateletes, that's also pretty normal for me.
    Low sodium.
And after all that water I drank, my sample was corrupted during transport.
So, my doctor won't really yell at me next week(she never really does).

Given the nature of the test and the margin of error, a point one way or the other is really the same reading. Mine was down by .1% at an appointment and my doctor was giving me the thumbs up. I told him I was a retired math teacher and knew the number was really the same as the previous. He said, "I know that too, but work with me here."

It is really irritating to have the sample corrupted.

Well normally they say it's uniterpretable, so most times I don't get any results from my urine sample.
My doctor was quite happy with the 6.9%, and was surprised that I was disappointed. Well, I shouldn't have been.
My ultrasound on my veins showed some minor vascular blah, blah. So she is sending me to a specialist for further investigation.
I'm tellin ya, I have a whole team that takes care of me. It used to be a joke when I first got out of the hospital, but the older I get, the more doctors I need.
