This week includes a two-day Jewish holiday (Shavuot). In addition to staying up all night on Tuesday night learning, there are traditions that include eating some dairy meal (often including cheesecake), and as always, a couple of "festive meals" plus wine. My plan is to try my best to have a more limited absolute amount of food to account for the increased calories, and as always, keep on working out, avoiding alcohol during the rest of the week, and eating standard meals the rest of the time.
I also stopped the Motrin that I was taking for a calf injury. My weight already dropped by a pound or so after stopping it!1 -
I am back to most of my routine, which was interrupted and diminished due to COVID. I am hoping to start getting back to walking. This cough is my limiting factor. So, we'll see.
Interestingly, as someone who tends to eat their feelings and boredom, I have done pretty well over the last few weeks...dropping 13 pounds overall...exclusively due to portion control and food selection. I had two days where things didn't go well; but I've been right back up on the horse.
Steve, I had to stop my naproxin, which I was taking for a foot issue. Oddly, I haven't missed it.1 -
I've totally been off the rails these past few weeks and really the past few months.
So this week I'm going to depart from high carb foods ie; noodles, potatoes, some types of breads and so on.
Concentrate on more high protein, more leafy vegetables, salads with lower calorie dressings.
Leave off foods with sugar ie ice cream, baked sugar deserts the usual foods that have sugar.
In addition to the above cut back to sensible portions. To accomplish this I've got to concentrate on one meal at a time.
I'm up 4.2 lbs from Monday last week to today. Got to cut back on the weekends as well.
Last thing is I've got to get my body moving. Walking some days I hit 5000 plus steps but not many. Plus I'm DW and I have a Senior free membership to our local community pool and totally outfitted gym. It's just a decision away.
In other words I need a total overall health and exercise reboot.

No changes this week. I have a consultation scheduled this week with a registered dietitian, which may result in some changes in diet. I recently changed my exercise routine, and now do my stationary bike workout in the morning because I was too tired to do a good quality/quantity workout in the evening. So far, so good.0

My default answer is usually that I want to do the same things this week as I did last week. I just don’t know if it’s accurate.
Last week I was in the Red Zone; this week I’m living in the Yellow Zone. That gives me ten more points and a bit more flexibility, but I’m trying not to avail myself of that while I try to bring down my fourteen day average into the Green Zone.
So in summary, I’m choosing to be a bit constrained right now as I try to eliminate the “splurge and dive” from my weekly weigh-in.0
