I'm up 0.2 pounds since last Friday. That's actually a little better than I anticipated, as there was a two-day holiday running from Tuesday night until last night. Cheesecake was involved. Ha ha.

I was actually down a pound or two before the holiday, so I think I'm in pretty decent shape.

I also didn't run this week because of an injury, but I'm feeling much improved now.

Next week, then, it's back to my plan.

    182/132.8/146

I'm checking in for accountability, but I forgot to weigh before eating and drinking this morning. Surgery recovery is going well, but not as smoothly as the last one. I've taken/am taking more pain meds with this one. I feel like I've made progress the last couple of days, so I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel this time next week. My eating is "off," but I haven't had a lot of junk food. My head is at least partially in the game, so that's good.

    Have a great weekend!

My weekly weigh-in Thursday was in the Green Zone again, so that’s a two week streak. I’m continuing with the implementation of my 14 day daily average as a second layer to that, and while that metric is not where I wanted it to be (which is why I needed to do it), I can see that it’s having the intended impact on my behavior. The 14 day average currently Yellow, and so I’m holding my eating plan to Yellow until it drops into Green - which mathematically should happen tomorrow, as the highest weight of the past two weeks drops out of the calculation.

So I mentioned my choices are being influenced by this second later metric. I find that when I’m faced with a craving and deciding what to do about it, I’m considering not only a) whether I have points, and b) whether it will adversely affect my weekly weigh-in, but also c) whether that one indulgence will create a blip in my pattern of daily results that I’ll have to live with for fourteen days. That’s actually a good thing to think about, since having a longer range view is consistent with this being a lifestyle rather than a diet (verb). It will also, I believe, help me with my objective of bringing a little stability to my results, tamping down the volatility that has historically been part of my pattern.

Up 1.7. I was disappointed because, although I haven't been tracking, I thought I was doing a decent job at intuiting and actually having better discipline than some of the weeks when I'm tracking 100%. Ugh. Back at it!

It seems to me there are two dimensions at the scale. I can stay within points or calories or whatever, but if I ate a large volume of food or some physically weighty food, it will show up as a gain. Being over points or calories, on the other hand, may take a few days to show up.

Up 3.4 this week. 😒 I gained back the loss from the week before. No comment beyond the first sentence.
