I'm even this week. I've been floundering a bit over the past few weeks. I've got all sorts of reasons and excuses, but they don't really have a bearing on my moving forward. I've been much more in-the-groove and on-plan over the past couple of weeks, and so still just following my plan and trying to be patient.
Again, on a positive this week, I managed to run outside every day this week, which is a real triumph after the injury I was nursing (the week before I ran on the treadmill as it's somewhat softer on my legs).
Still maintaining, anyway, and just tracking 3-4 pounds above my personal target.

After last week's visit to the Red Zone, I was pleased to get my official weigh-in Thursday night back into the Green Zone - exactly where I was two weeks ago. Of course, that little surge last week is still in the 14 day daily average, which is therefore Red but moving down. So, given the fact that the weekly is my “primary” metric, I’m considering that I’m in the Yellow Zone in terms of my eating over the next week (or two).
I'm more and more convinced, though, that including the 14 day daily average as a second layer to my approach was the right thing to do. Getting into Green isn’t enough; I need to be more consistently in Green. It’s not good to dive down for a weekly number, and then be higher most of the time. Having the 14 day average as a factor influencing my approach makes me think a little longer about indulgences and about whether I’m really hungry - even if I have the points in my daily budget. I’m nowhere near intuitive eating, but I’ve slid somewhere closer based on this.
In other news, we’ve been spending our money on “house stuff”. The pump for the well at the lake house failed, and we replaced all the lattice work around our deck. We’re in the process of upgrading from a queen sized bed to a king sized bed, so we’ve ordered a headboard/footboard and when that comes in, we'll order a Sleep Number mattress of a type to be determined. And the home theater system downstairs (that was included with the house when we bought it) stopped working and is non-repairable. In looking at that, I learned that the home theater system upstairs was under recall as a fire hazard - and it’s similarly old enough that new parts don’t mesh with it. And, of course, real estate taxes are due in July for both houses.
But I’m getting back to more activity - not at 100% yet, but I’ll be back at Tai Chi today for the first time this month. I’ve gotten my walking started again, and that up to about two miles. Things are going well in that regard.3 -
Hey Friday Weighers!
I'm even for the week, and happy about that. This week, I feel like my head was, more often than not, where it needed to be in terms of eating. I'm still not as solid as I was at the beginning of the year, but Im feeling better after several weeks of road travel visiting family. In exciting PT news, I can now lift my leg off the ground while I'm laying down. (Please, hold your applause.) That feels like real progress post hip replacement. I still frequently have pain, but I'm wondering if it's because my muscles had atrophied and I'd developed an improper gait due arthritis. PT believes this will work itself out, but I'm a bit impatient. The recovery with the other hip was incredibly easy. I'd love to have a week without pain where I don't take prescription anti-inflammatory drugs.
Have a great weekend!4 -
Down 1,6 for the week. Even for the last month. 14 lbs to go. We bought a bread machine and made the first loaf yesterday.3

Up 0.8 since last Friday. And the see-saw continues.2

Even for the week, but how precise is the scale, anyway?3

Up 2.2 lbs from last week. Really doing the up and down thing lately. Up to a 6-8 lb swing over certain periods of time like the last 8 days to 2 months prior. I have got lots of thinking to do. On to another week.0
